Description
To replace the Mosaics locationless cache recently archived.
Love the mosaics appearing all over the place these days so this cache is to record where they are anywhere in the world. A photo of the mosaics but your GPS is not required. These caches need to be accessible to the public. They can be big or small and a bit of history would make the find more interesting but is not essential.

A mosaic in Moldova. I saw this on route to Chișinău. I had just spent the day inside Transnistria, an unrecognised breakaway state controlled by Russia. The mosaic was just outside the border. This area is technically Moldova, up to the Ukrainian border but good luck explaining that to the Russian military at the border gates. Note the bullet marks on the mosaic. There are lots of mosaics in this part of the world. I like travelling to the lesser known parts of the globe and escaping the hideously boring comfort zone.. among other things.. this location ticked every box. Thanks for the cache and thanks for triggering interesting memories

We recently did the Railton to Sheffield power trail caches and on completion stopped at the bakery in Sheffield to grab some lunch. We took it to a nearby park to eat and while there grabbed some photos of the mosaic work at the entrance and set in to the footpath.
The art work can be found in Tassie at S41 22.900 E146 19.576.
Thanks.

Found mosaics in Rushworth 2 years ago.
This differs from the usual type of mosaic as the pieces are large and have been individually baked. The Mosaic was completed in 2001 by local sculptor Angie Russ for the Rushworh and District Presavation Society.

This brilliant mosaic on the wall of the Fonterra factory at Stanhope is made up from thousands of photographs of locals and the local area, very cleverly arranged to make up this panoramic history of the area.
I meant to take the photo on my way to Bendigo when the sun was behind me, but I forgot, instead taking it on my way home with the sun in the wrong direction, so it is not as clear as I would have preferred.
Definitely worth stopping to have a look at

Found this incredibly moving mosaic, at Paddy's River, on our way home from the Lake Macquarie OZGeoMuster. It is a tribute to the 3 children who were drowned by their father in a dam in Winchelsea on Father's Day 2005. The artist, Milutin Matic, was not connected to this tragedy in any way, but was so moved by the story, he created the artwork.
I had a list of the locationless caches with me for the States of the Nation Series in case I happened upon any. I was actually standing near this one this morning having a drink and only turned around and clicked that this was on the list. I have walked past here numerous times and just never registered it. The cache is located near the Mussel Pool station at Whiteman Park, north of Perth, Western Australia. A gorgeous wee spot and I have a lot of appreciation for this mosaic now! Thanks for the cache!

On a late night hunt for a FTF on a cache called Violet Crumble at Violet Town. One of the waypoints brought us near to some lovely murals in the town. There are a few nearby so don't think that this small portion is giving anything away.
It's a brilliant cache with a very clever twist at the finish.
It was definitely worth doing, and managed to take a picture for the States of the Nation challenge in the meantime

This fountain near Gosford Railway Station (NSW) has been here for a long time, much longer than the various 'beautification works' and upgrades that have been done to the station. Though I haven't seen water flow in it for many, many years. I went and had a peek at it today, and was a little surprised to see it was a mosaic, so happily photographed it for this cache.
The plaque for the fountain names it "Rotary War Memorial Fountain" ... "As a symbol to those who died in their efforts to achieve lasting peace" and suggests the fountain dates back to the early 1960s.

Flow of the Dawson River - Theodore, QLD
A mosaic in Junction Park representing the flow of the Dawson River & diversity of local industry, fauna & flora. The mosaic was designed by local artist Tracey Hewitt & crafted by members of the Theodore community. The mosaic project was built in recognition of the strength of the Theodore community following the 2010/2011 flood event. The mosaic has two sides with one representing the flora & fauna of the area. Black cockatoos, Saratoga fish, Tawny Frogmouth Owls, Fitzroy Bottom Breathing Turtles and the Livistonia Palm are displayed.
The opposite side represents the town & industry with Bottle Trees, wheat, cotton, a water wheel, a cow and a slightly abstracted version of the water tower and town's main street. In addition to the small pieces of broken tile plates & bowls were also used.

Mt Nebo State School has this Mosaic board at the front entrance to the school. I noticed this when I drove up to do the Mt Glorious Trig Point. The original school building is also still there and still used. The gardens are really pretty in the front and the kids take a lot of pride in their school. There is also a well kept world war 1 memorial and other delights in the gardens.TFTC

Inspired by GA7102, Locationless by 12, I decided to try for 12 in 12...minutes. I dragged Gangstella along to do the camera work and navigate so I could drive safely... and our two dogs. Instead of logging a photo here, I have a video link instead. It is shaky, blurry, over and underexposed, but it does the job...just.

As you will see we had fun finding them all and the dogs loved the end of it all.
Thanks

We were on a bike ride around the Hurstbridge area and stopped at St Andrews for a coffee and cake break. While there, we mosied on over to have a look at this mosaic dedication to those involved in the Black Saturday fires of February 2009. A fitting tribute so I took a series of photos at around 13:00 to make a panorama of the scene.
The information panel next to the mosaic diorama reads:
February 7th, 2009
Black Saturday
Amidst the devastation, bushfire affected women came together to share stories, laughter and tears. We have created this gift to the community as part of our healing. We honour the loss of life and the resilience of both people and nature and as our journey of recovery continues, we build hope for the future.

We spotted at a little general store in Jan Juc on our way down the Great Ocean Road for the long weekend and sat at this very nice mosaic turtle table.
Found another beautiful mosaic. This one at the Age of Fishes Museum in Canowindra. The fossils were found whilst building a road they were from the Devonian Period (416 - 359 million years ago) and may have been left in a billabong or pool that dried. The soil slowly covered them and then the mud became shale and then the road was dug up and they were found again. It is totally Beaut and more than worth the trip. Then you can visit the wineries.
