Description
This cache is part of the I've Cached Everywhere, Man (ICEM) project, the largest cache series in Australia
It is made up of the locations made famous by Lucky Star in the song "I've been everywhere" in 1962, lyrics by Geoff Mack.
Tassie gets its own verse thanks to Hookline:
GCA Verse 6 by hookline
I've cached in Ulverstone, Dulverton, Smithton, Burnie,
Queenstown, George Town, Campbell Town, Swansea
Lilydale, Scottsdale, Berriedale, Bicheno
Rosebury, Fentonbury, Dodges Ferry, Jericho
Cockle Creek, Lake Leake, Sisters Creek, Winnaleah
Wayatinah, Poatina, Tulendeena... yeah, I've cached there!
This cache is located at Dulverton.
But where is Dulverton?
- It is not near Oatlands. Lake Dulverton is there, but not Dulverton.
- Google Earth has no idea - it thinks that Dulverton is near Shannon in the Central Highlands (poor misguided information tool!).
- Dulverton is between Latrobe and Railton (of cement works fame).
Dulverton in an old area. The Encyclopedia of Tasmania 1901 states "Dulverton, situated in the county of Devon, police district of Port Sorell, and electorate of East Devon, is a town with postal communication, and is a siding on the North-Western railway line, about half way between Railton and Latrobe, which places are distant from each other eight miles. The township has a busy aspect, and has a sawmill which is constantly worked. The district may be very correctly termed agricultural, and is a noted potato-growing locality. Dulverton has a Wesleyan Church, a social hall which is adequate for local requirements, and a population of about 60."
In addition to the railway siding, Dulverton has been the site for lime kilns (very extensive limestone deposits in the area extending back to Railton), brick works and an olive nursery. The township no longer exists (although an advert on Google Earth indicated that hotels at Dulverton could be booked online and each had special offers!!!), the sawmill has gone but there are many hectares of plantations. Dulverton is the waste and recyling centre of the area: the Dulverton Waste Management Authority operates a regional waste disposal area (must stop calling it "The Tip"), produces high volumes of compost and recyles all manner of things; the compost making facility for a large mushroom growing facility is in the same area.
Just in case you are anxious at this point, the cache is not hidden in a pile of compost nor on the tip face.
At the time of placement the cache contained a FTF prize and a Finders Card for each cacher finding the cache.

Thanks guys....
Something to be said for big solid brick pubs, at least they leave some ruins to remember the place by!
It was good to find another of the ICEM series
After finding "Gorgous Dasher", the drive to ground zero was a pleasure.
A quick and easy find was made and the log signed at 1406hrs.
TFTC and cheers;
OldSaint.
