Description

No.27 Stoner

Casey Stoner (born 16 October 1985) is an Australian professional motorcycle racer. Born in Kurri Kurri, New South Wales, Australia and raised in Southport, Queensland, Stoner raced from a young age and moved to the UK to pursue a racing career. After first competing internationally in 2002, Stoner became MotoGP World Champion in 2007 for Ducati Corse and won a second world championship title in this year 2011 for Repsol Honda.

Australia's motorcylcing's current favourite son, Casey was nearly unbeatable in 2011, after moving to Honda. Stoner won the World Championship for the second time at his home round at Philip Island, Australia. On his 26th birthday, Stoner won his ninth race of the season from his eleventh pole, and with his only challenger Jorge Lorenzo ruled out of the race due to a hand injury suffered in warm-up, Stoner finished the weekend with an unassailable 65-point lead. His victory in the Australian MotoGP was his fifth in succession in his home race dating back to 2007 making him the only rider to have won at Phillip Island during the 800cc era of MotoGP.

Casey is exceptionally fast and is astounding to watch as he drifts the back wheel around corners at 200kph plus. Has a fierce rivalry with Valentino Rossi who took Casey out of the Spanish GP ealier this year.

This moveable cache is racing in the Leapfrog Competition. MotoGP riders regularly ride at speeds of 300kph and love to ride motorbikes so please move him along quickly and far:)

Please move him along within 2 days as per the Leapfrog rules/guidelines so he has a chance to win.

The log book is in a bison tube atached to a base plug, please replace the plug firmly. After you sign the log book, please move the cache to a secure place, well out of sight of muggles, but in a spot that's quite easy to find. And leave a very clear clue for the next finder.

Logs

2 years since this moveable was last found or sighted (last log is actually a DNF not a find), so we'll archive it to stop others looking for something that may not be in location.

If it does reappear, the listing can be re-instated...

So many moveables came to the Meet the Moveables event today there was little to no chance of a different log for each one. Suffice to say that 4 hours of entertainment was had as we sorted through caches, found ones we had and hadn't logged, enjoyed the company of others and generally had a great time with the moveables, and Geocacher geocaches and even an ephemeral cache or two. Thanks for this moveable geocache which I logged today.

There was a commotion at the door and we found fifteen moveables looking for a bed for the night. Not sure they will think it was a luxurious resort after fighting for space in a couple of boxes on the couch that they had to share with the another guest, our son's dog! After a busy night for the host the fifteen moveables were provided with a luxurious breakfast (apart from the instant coffee). Now Casey Stoner is ready to hit the road again. Thanks Purplepeopleater for the fun moveable. Deserves a favourite, very cute!

Sorry about the lengthy logs. We are currently aiming for a dragon zone virtual verbosity trophy. We have just received the 100 word trophy, so now aiming for the 150 word trophy. For all new GCA cachers, a warning, write a decent log to start with in case you want to get these virtual trophies down the track. Having now passed 2000 GCA finds with a lot of one word logs (on many moveables) makes for a lot of typing now!

We are participating in the States of the Nation games which are currently running from 16 December 2017 until 21 January 2018 and we will try and use this find against one of the scavenges.

States of the Nation is a real and virtual geocaching scavenger hunt where your home state will compete against other Australian states to find and hide geocaches. Over the 5 week course of the game there will be hundreds of scavenges that you can track down, find and convert into points for your state. Some scavenges will be easy. Some scavenges will be tough. Some scavenges may be impossible. Don't despair. You are not competing just for yourself; you are competing as a state.

There will be a number of scavenges released on a weekly basis but each scavenge will remain until the end of the game. This means even if you decide to join the game part way through, the early scavenges are still available for you to claim. Scavenges will require you to find a geocache, hide a geocache, attend an event or do something else completely different. The game focuses on all aspects of geocaching and so all cache types, sizes, terrain and difficulty will be up for scavenging. TrigPoints, Events, History, Virtual, Webcam, Podcache and Locationless geocaches are all scavengable, so you're not just looking for a box under a bush. Each week there will be a mix of physical, non-physical and locationless geocaches so even if you are not in a geocache rich area, use the locationless component of scavenger series to get out, find something to log and gain points for your state. If you watch the scavenges as they are released you might also spot the 'not so hidden' patterns and plan for future weeks of the series.

Hiding geocaches will also be a large part of the scavenger series, but please remember this is a game of geocaching and geocaches that you hide should be long lasting, be of good quality and you should be proud of what you hide. Please avoid hiding a geocache just for the day so your state can find it before you archive it. Geocaches that exist for a short period of time may result in any claims on that geocache being disqualified. Play creatively, but also play fairly. More geocachers hiding more geocaches makes for more geocaching fun.

Go Tassie, Go Tassie, Go Tassie, Go Tassie Go Tassie Go Tassie Go Tassie
