Description

A Double Munzee Cache place for ZEAMMAFF... with a twist or two!

 Vanity Puzzler!

A GCA Puzzle / (Former) Munzee Hybrid Cache

(Sadly the Munzee in this cache was muggled, but Munzee is still part of the puzzle!)

THIS CACHE IS NOT AT THE LISTED CO-ORDS... though they are a good place to park!

Released for the ZEAMMAFF Event on January 3rd 2012, some inconsiderate person built a road through the original GZ. It has now been moved nearby.

Simply solve the puzzle to get the Co-Ords, rock up to GZ, check the arrow, the hint if you need it and sign the log book, no different to a normal cache. Plenty of room for swaps!

I recommend the awesome GA Cacher App by Mtrax for all your GCA hunting needs!

Found It!
I've never had much interest in Munzees. But now they are part of a puzzle, the time has come to figure out how they work. After a few dead ends, I found the solution to this puzzle then today I went to GZ. I quickly climbed up to the right level and soon spotted the cache!

While Munzee is still a part of this cache and will remain so, I no longer play regularly as my limited outdoor time is focused on caching. Sadly the Puzzle Munzee in the box was muggled when the road was built through the original GZ so I've removed that part of it from the description. There are heaps of Munzees nearby for the keen QR hunter and you'll still need a QR scanner (though not actually the Munzee App) to solve this puzzle.

You can actually still claim the Munzee by scanning this QR while at GZ if you are clever! Good Luck!

I really should have worn shoes rather than thongs. Great cache but there did not seem to be any munzee pieces inside the cache.

Zalgariath I found your cache Vanity Puzzler on 27/04/19, 11:48 am. This is my find # 107 and find # 5 today. Done the puzzle , got coordinates, found a way to gz, and after a brief search CIH. Photo attached. Thanks for the cache! TNSLLN

Out caching with ziggiau raiding Rookwood and Homebush for States of the Nation points. This was find 6 of 11 for the day.
Another clever puzzle from this CO. This one took some solving...I’m sure I figured out the correct way to solve it but needed a slight fiddle of one of the final numbers to get the checker happy. Arriving at GZ we quickly spied something suspicious from completely the wrong level. Working out our plan of attack we opted for the easy way to the cache with the harder find. Took us a little while to find the suspicious object again but we eventually did and success CIH! Completed the signing duties but could not locate the munzee Crying or Very sad
Thanks for another great cache Zalgariath and some more NSW points!
Find # 41

Thanks to Nessell’s puzzle solving and sleuthing abilities she was able to come up with a result. I guided us from Rookwood to Homebush and as fortune would have it, fluked some nearby parking. We thought we spied a SPOR from street level so this became our target. We felt a little conspicuous with all the workers across the road looking our way, but we got on with it. In between killing a million mozzies, we made the find, signed quickly, killed a few more mozzies and found a nearby moveable. We certainly donated blood to the game today. Thanks Zal.
*Overall Experience: 4*

You know how Alice followed a rabbit down a hole. I followed a skink and found treasure.

You know how Alice returned to Wonderland through the looking glass (cough), well glitterbiarch has returned to one of her Daddy's cache zones, and she doesn't look happy. She's quite like the When of Hearts really isn't she.

Couldn't get to the nearby event on time today so I decided to try finding a few geocaches at Olympic Park. I hope you all had fun at the event.

Thanks for replacing Zal! Gotta love all those unloved days. Enjoyed this one but not having much luck with the Münzers in this area

Who the hell put that street there?! Even this was first hidden it was all bush here. Now there is a road right next to the old GZ so I had to move it about 20m. Puzzle has been adjusted to reflect. Not as nice a spot as it used to be but I hope you have fun. Many munzees nearby now! Back in Acton...

This cache has been now disabled for longer than 90 days.

Unfortunately, the cache will be archived in 28 days if the listing is not re-enabled. This is done to keep the Geocaching Australia database clean and up to date.

We hope the cache can be re-enabled so that cachers can head out to find the cache….and enjoy a visit to the area.

Looks like it is time for a checkup!

Cracked the puzzle quickly and got the required info but on inspecting GZ couldn't find anything cache-like. Hoping CO could do a cache check.

I cracked the puzzle straight up a weekly before heading to Sydney to drop stuff off for the Easter show.
Unfortunately, even using the hints and reading past logs, I was unable to locate the cache. Not sure of out is kissy eluding me or if its gone. Oh well, worth a try.

Scampered along the rock shelves and discovered GZ on an afternoon out to log all remaining caches and munzees in Homebush. A short search revealed the goodies.

14-Apr-13
We were in the park for a day picking up munzies and this was on the radar. Had a laugh reading some of the previous logs. Took the harder way up although junior abandoned the search near GZ due to the ants nest. Did the double.

Walked in from Concord West finding caches and munzees along the way. This is the most innovative munzee I've found! Didn't take too long to work it out but capture is a little tricky! Thanks for the cache.

24-Aug-12
Finally came back after working out where this bugger was. I parked and walked back over to GZ. Didn't work out the easy or hard way, but made my way in and to GZ. Found the cache straight away. Whew...knocked this one off. Now to grab all those munzees still around. Thanx Zal. Clapping

Cache was easy, but couldn't figure out the second munzee. Will ponder it some more.

I figured out how to solve the puzzle, but I used my son technical know how to get the solution.

Today it was a quick easy walk to GZ and an easy find.

Hmmmf..... solve the puzzle...... yeah ok what puzzle? Brick WallBrick Wall
I even went back to Vanity Dejavu because I remember Zal saying did you look at everything. Well no, so I thought I better go and look again. Rolling Eyes Well I looked really, really hard Brick WallBrick WallBrick Wall and the nogging was starting to hurt DohDoh . By now the sweat was pouring off me, so I pushed my bike back out and sat dejectedly down on a bench. I even thought well lets just try and guess, cause I thought that special piece of equipment, would reveal something. I used it to look under everything. Oh yes Zal, go ahead and laugh. I was even on my way to "GZ" thinking it was hidden the same way on the same meridian in a different place. Shocked Now I'm thinking I'm having a case of dejavu.
Confused?????? hope so because LOOK what this cache has done to me. AnxiousAnxiousBrick WallBrick Wall
Then I had a brainwave Idea. Just phone blossom*. After pouring out my frustration and confusion, she pointed me in the right direction but even then I didn't get it. Shocked UNTIL Shocked I realised that I really did need a lesson in Vanity cause the reality slugged me in the face Brick WallBrick Wall So off I peddled once more, to you know where, and Zal you would have received my letter of endearment by now. Twisted Evil
Then back on the bike and quick as a flash I arrived at GZ. Well I wasn't wasting any more time so I just took the most direct route. Luckily the passing muggle didn't see the monkey scaling the heights. Nothing too hard about this, nice big handholds and I'm so glad I haven't lost my agility.
Oh look there it is a nice big cache. I open the cache and feel like I'm having another case of dejavu. Now I have one more confession to make and you are not to laugh Embarassed . Trying to scan the munzee with the phone back to front does not work, all it does is tries to scan my frustrated face. Brick Wall Ask me if I like Munzees. Not Talking
This cache had me scratching my head numerous times, I am obviously not blessed with enough grey matter as those who have found it previously. BUT the experience was priceless. I returned the way I came, hopped on the bike and came home.
Thanks Zal, for confusing the hell out of me. Very HappyVery HappyVery HappyVery HappyVery Happy
And thanks blossom* for being the smart one.

15-Jan-12
I have to admit that blossom* did the hard brain work on this one but I found the container Very Happy

15-Jan-12
OK, I worked it out Rolling Eyes It took me a while to zero in on the right information for the puzzle, I was checking everything in the vicinity before I clicked Idea

Laying a froggie super trail today, Strike-a-light and I visited the GZ that I had cleverly ( Laughing ) detected and found the cache. We found the easy way in but that seemed too tame so we took the harder way out for a bit of an adventure. Almost seems a shame that there IS an easy way to get there really Dancing

I found this one today while taking a few Frogs to the Park.
To be honest I only did this one because it is a GA cache, I don't do puzzles (They are annoying!) and I don't do Munzees (I don't have the high tech gizmo!).
I had to look around for a while to find the access to GZ, but it all became clear in the end, the hint now made sense and the cache was quickly in hand and the log signed.
Finding the co-ords for GZ was quite simple once the right page is looked at. For while I thought that it had something to to with the Vampire Hunter Very Happy of manga, Anime and Comic book fame, after all Zal is nothing if not very devious! But it soon became apparent that the Very Happy was meant to be a smiley and it has nothing to do with vampires.
Thanks for the cache see you in a few months (maybe).

08-Jan-12
Well that was relatively easy. Approached from the top which made things easier than crossing the road. Even worked out what was needed for the Munzee. Thanks Zalgariath.

Now waiting for the email from blossom* Mr. GreenMr. GreenMr. Green

I must have been in the zone to find this one. I looked at the cache page last night and quickly spotted something amiss. Instantly I fell into another page that had all the information I needed. Today, on the way home from work I stopped by the coordinates and there was the cache. I opened it up and FTF! Wow, I don't get them too often. Found the Zal pathtag and a FTF prize from GeoWhat? GeoStuff. Thank you Zal. Clever puzzle and tricky final step for the Munzee inside.
