A GCA Traditional Cache (Former Munzee Hybrid Cache)
After hosting the first ever Australia Munzee Meet event in Bicentennial Park in January 2012 I got my first Gold Munzee for my premium Munzee Membership and I decided to plant it nearby to commemorate the event. However, when Zhaomin and I discovered this spot on route to check out the park, I knew it deserved more than just a Munzee, so it became GCA cache with log book ready for you to find :D The Munzee was lost when the cache was muggled in 2015 and has not been replaced, but the cache itself is still there, and has been renamed to better reflect the reason to visit this part of the park.
GZ Notes: It has changed rather a lot since the cache was hidden on a near barren hill. Now it is overgrown with weeds and grass so be cautious. There is a sign you'll pass on your way to GZ to help you identify a number of the local inhabitants. Have fun, but note this cache is not for the very young as it requires some mild physical exhersion to reach!
I recommend the awesome GA Cacher App by Mtrax for all your GCA hunting needs!
(PLEASE carefully replace the cache as you found it when you are done thanks!)
-= Big thanks to my girl Zhaomin who helped build / hide this cache =-
(I let her log... but not as FTF :P)

Logs
Now closer to waist high up, due to natural event.
After finding the unloved "Six and Out!" at Rhodes, I thought I would try my luck here. Parked on Pomeroy St and headed along the bike path north. Looks like there is a bit of work planned here as there is a lot of temporary fencing and areas marked off. At one point I though access to GZ was out of bounds as well but even worse, there were a group of 3 workmen having a conference just where I was planning to go bush. I kept walking to the bridge - because apparently exercise is good for you - and on return, the coast was clear. Scaled the colossal mountain and got a big fright as I had obviously startled a cat and it bolted. Spotted the container immediately but then what's that? I pulled out a Munzee. I was sure the logs mentioned a replacement cache and that the Munzee was missing. Then I looked at the log and saw the last date from 2013. I had clearly found the original container. I signed it and tried to scan the Munzee but it had been archived. Didn't take too long to find the replacement cache so I signed that as well. What an interesting afternoon !!!

No problems locating, grass is starting to get high due to the recent rains. Thanks. TNSLLN
Thanks for the cache and the lovely almost unknown park.
Turns out... nothing is wrong here! However, I can see what lead to the confusion. For reasons unknown to me, someone left an apparatus very like the one I used to hide the cache hanging nearby. However, my cache was still in place and all is well. I took the metal chain and carabina, which came in handy a few minutes later when I was repairing "Vanity DeJaVu"!
In other news, I have replaced the Munzee with one which has greater QR contrast. Hopefully this make scanning easier
If anyone comes along with a big garbage bag and takes a load of trash away I will be most grateful. I will endeavour to do more when I get back in a week
3Meters, huh! must be 3 Gnome meters as this cache was found on the ground beside a tree, amongst some not so nice rubbish.
I think it has just fallen from the tree as the fastening device appears to have been undone, rather than broken. unless the branch it was on broke, hard to tell after the fact.
made the log, then tried to scan the munzee, my phone would not pick up the grey color of this munzie.
and i did not have the tablet with me. returned the cache to the tree it was closest too,but not 3 m off the ground any more.
Next time i have a meeting i'll come better prepared.
thanks for the cache find anyway.
A great cache and thanks for the help.
wo ai ni wo de baobao coconut <3
Once I got there, it didn't take too long to log a *FTF* and scan the gold star. The cache was well camouflaged and securely attached to the thing that its attached to. Took me a little while to figure out how to open it as I held my torch in my mouth so that I could use both hands - this cache would definitely be easier in the daylight!
Thanks for a fun adventure on a cold Sydney evening.
