Description
Small container near entrance to Hinze Dam
This cache can be done on your way to visit the newly re-opened Hinze Dam in the Gold Coast Hinterland. The outside container is a painted sistema plastic lunch box but inside is a screw top vitamin container. That way the log inside should stay dry even in our wet Queensland summer.
There is already a GC cache inside the dam precincts. The dam site is only open 6 am to 6 pm. This GCA cache is available at all times. One residence nearby. You may need to park across the road.

Found cache fairly easily. Inner container & log book were wet, this is strange because outside container was bone dry.

damn lucky indeed. I got two caches in one stop here. haha.
just doing a drive through with park and grabs today because I had to come here for my sister and it's too hot to go for a walk. haha.

Was in the area and decided it was time to make the effort to find this cache. Didn't take too long to make the find - the cache was well hidden. Opened it up and there was quite a bit of water inside the cache. Strange, as there hasn't been any rain here for such a long time. The cache is about the only wet thing in the area! We drained out the best we could, and were able to sign the logbook. Thanks Bristracker!

#GA3005 - 15:50; Today it was time for the geotribe and I to head for the hills and so it was we made our way up and along the winding road and through multiple lots of roadwork to Tamborine Mountain. After a few stops on the way around, including a great walk to Curtis Falls and a nice lunch in Canungra, we were getting close to home base again when we stopped off to grab this cache. It is almost five years since this one has been found, but it was tucked snuggly in its hide and all is in good order. Very happy to have added my name to the log after such a long wait! Found this one while waiting for the gate to open. Thought the gate was automatic but then a security guard turned up to open it. Cache still safe and sound. Signed log book and replaced.
Thanx again bristracker

Accurate coordinates and a deatiled hint led to a quick find. The very well designed cache and its contents were in good condition. TFTC
Had fun looking for this. Wife got great pleasure in finding her first cache with this one.

Spotted this was here from logs of nearby GC cache. So downloaded the coords and made the find in the pouring rain. Despite the deluge, all is nice and dry inside and we kept it so by signing the log under the shelter of 2 umbrellas; good for sheltering from prying muggle eyes too. TFTC BT.

Radnoski keeps aprised of all things GCA - so I am glad he had his wits about him for this. We found it after a small hunt and in good condition. We're happy to get *FTF* on this one. TFTC Bristracker
Fangsoki and I were in the area doing a big walk up at Binna Burra so we swung past Hinze Dam to grab some caches.
The same parking spot for a GCA and GC cache. Nice one.
A clean log so that would be a joint *FTF* with Fangsoki.
Thanks for the cache Bristracker. Cheers!
