Description
I have walked this area for 50 years
There is another cache in the area also so if you stop just by driving over the train line two can be found. Watch out for the large trains. Give the drivers a wave they are friendly in Tasmania. Small birds next by and many sea gulls think they own the beach. The paint factory is long gone but thr tunnel under the road is still walkable.Plenty of blackberries growing along the line in the late summer months. In the winter you could hear the black cookatoos if lucky. Havn't see a fox yetin the area. I have seen seals very rare, now just in the last two years some Penguins have moved in, as I write this today a whale rather large died at sea has been washed up as they do in Tasmania. A very strong smell is found if you get close.

Logs
I searched near the pine trees mentioned in the hint but unfortunately no container to be found. I just happened to lift a rock next to the pine tree and found the logbook (photo attached). Logbook is damp but managed to sign my name, unfortunately this one requires some owner maintenance.

Needs maintenance.
Found with AlbyDangles on Day Two of the 'Bust' leg of our "Kempsey or Bust" tour.
Cheers, EPs
We spent a lot of time looking for this one and I had lost interest when EeePees spotted the log book out in the open by the side of the tracks.
Today was the second day of a road trip with EeePees.

Thanks TassyExplorer.....
Thanks for the cache, Tassyexplorer !
Found this cache while traveling up to the north west. An enjoyable day.
Parked on the edge of the highway and scrambled down to the cache next to the tunnel. Found the cache quickly but then had to wait to walk back to the tunnel and up to the car as a long train came along the track. A train from 6-10 feet away is a remarkable sight
Luckily I was on the look out for long trains.
Anne and I have finished our three day tour of the West Coast; having stayed at Queenstown, Zeehan and Burnie for two nights, today it was head for the South and home. We also enjoyed visiting the towns of Strahan, Rosebery, Tullah, Waratah and Savage River. Both of us have really enjoyed our sojourn and it is a shame that all good things come to an end. The memories of this trip will be treasured.
This cache was the first one on the agenda for today.
I enjoyed the walk along the train track and soon found the pine in question. The cache was extracted, the log signed and the container replaced as found at 0810hrs. Now off to "Beach Revival!"
Two caches as close as this is a bonus! Just wondering what the purpose of the tunnel was? Couldn't work it out!
Found five caches in total for day one. Day two, eleven caches found. The third day coffed up nine cache finds and two "Did Not Finds" but I think those two caches maybe missing in action. Day four resulted in sixteen cache finds and today, the final one of the trip, resulted in 12 finds. Total for the trip was 53 cache finds. Happy with that!!
Have had a better time watching Anne's face as she got a better look at the West Coast. She's loved Nelsons Falls, Strahan, the Museum at Zeehan, the falls at Waratah and her visit to Wynyard plus the gear she purchased during retail therapy.
Thanks for the cache and the fun of the find
Cheers OldSaint.
