Description
The Best BBQ Spot
This a super simple find.
We thought this was a great BBQ spot after a walk in the Narawntapu National Park.
So, if you come over and have a BBQ, take a picture and add it to the Virtual Cache Gallery !
Why is it so good ?
- It's at Narawntapu National Park
- It has a great shelter
- You can see Mt Roland !
- We saw a Bennet's Wallaby out the window
- The BBQ itself is large, has a great s/steel cover and has a good teperature.
So, add a picture and enjoy the park !

Staying the night in the nearby homestead was awesome, so lucky and of course I had to stop here for a picture of the BBQ.
Out and about exploring.
Intended to go to the greens beach end
But oh well. Best view from a bbq I’ve seen!

It was nearly dark when I arrived at the national park and so this was the only cache I could get. Even this was a struggle so I took several photos. I will come back to further explore this park
In the area for a bit of bushwalking so why not grab a few local caches. It's a nice bbq area if you get excited about that sort of thing.. thanks..!!

I hadn't been here for at least 10 years and boy have things changed! A sealed road, visitor's centre, marked carpark bays, toilet block with showers, signs in a variety of languages AND the Best BBQ! I parked 5m from the bbq but in my excitement to get a photo of Mt Roland with snow on it I forgot to take a photo specifically of the Best BBQ. Thus my photo is a crop from a long distant shot of the area taken from Archer's Knob whilst on a 10km return hike.

Arrived at GZ at lunchtime and thought we might have competition for the BBQ shelter. Raced over and took the required photo just before another group arrived to share the space! TFTV
Camped at bakers point on the 24th and 25th and nearly got blown away by the wind which was strong enough to break our fold out annex Lovely spot nontheless hiking around archers knob was great fun!

Camping for the weekend, our second time away in our new caravan. After a big day of walking, we decided it was time for tea.
Had a great few days camping at this lovely park. Wombats galore! Unfortunately the rain came overnight and its a bit damp for a barbie today - but we'll be back!
Day 5 of the Muggle and Cacher mid-winter Tour of Tasmania, taking in the West, North Coast and Eastern Side of the Midlands.
Was a little earlyto be having a BBQ as we had just eaten breakfast and were heading for Waterhouse....
Neverwantapoo NP was nearly deserted last night - only one other vehicle apart from ours. Great! Maybe next time we will have a barbie...

A nice shelter from the strong wind but no view of Mt Roland today with heavy low cloud and rain on the way.
Did the walk along the beach to get three caches at Copper Cove with Tassie Trekkers on a beautiful winter's day. Was pleased to see this BBQ area when we returned. Certainly a top BBQ spot with wildlife to go with it!

What a great spot for a BBQ. Unfortunately we ate our lunch while walking to Archers Knob but can certainly vouch for the condition of this BBQ. It was absolutely spotless while we were there. Like previoius excited tourists we were lucky enough to count 10 big fat almost black wombats on our day in this beautiful park. We also saw kangas, wallabies, pademelon and a snake not to mention many different birds. Great spot.

After having walked to and located the cache "GA4284 Point Vision to Copper Cove Track #3" we returned to the Visitors Centre at Narawntapu National Park right on lunch time - a perfect location and time for a BBQ. The first thing we noticed (apart from the fact that the electric BBQs are free, although a donation is encouraged) is that the BBQ plate was spotless. After firing up the BBQ and putting our sausages and fruit kebabs on to cook, a couple from Perth WA arrived and shared the hot plate. After two months in Tassie they are heading back on the Spirit Of Tasmania tomorrow. As we finished lunch a very dark (nearly black) and very large wombat was seen about 60m away. Our visitors had only seen wombats in zoos, never in the wild. So one of them headed off with camera and quickly caught up. The wombat stopped at the mouth of its burrow, looked around, posed (. . . well it may have been looking to see if the human had brought lunch) then promptly headed into its home. One quite excited tourist! After packing up, cleaning up the BBQ plate to the condition we found it and making a donation, we said farewell to our tourists and headed off. Yes, it is an excellent BBQ spot (cooking facilities, wildlife and friendship) - as for the "Best", well only time will tell. TFTC Spreyton22
What a beautiful place Bakers Beach is. It was so damn hot today even the Wallabies were hiding away from the sun. The place was almost deserted when we were there so we are hoping its the same next week when we go back camping for the weekend. Thanks so much Spreyton22 for thinking up this cache its a beauty. We hope people from all over post photos of their favourite cooking spots. Cheers guys, Landy_clan
