If in the Mathinna area a camping ground called Griffin Forestry Park is popular with motor homes and caravaners in the summer months. Trail bikes and 4wds also in the winter months. The grounds can and do flood after heavy rain, which some roads could be cut. No swaps as it is a very small container.

Looked and looked for this one - think I looked under every rock under every tree. And bush. And a few more places besides. On Friday and then Saturday. A more appropriately sized container for the location would have made this a much better experience - and a more easily found cache.
Griffin campground was fantastic - would highly recommend it to all. Dog friendly, caravan and camper friendly, toilets and river.

What a nice camping area next to a lovely river. Large area and empty as well on a weekday. Just one other camper quite some distance away. Rained a bit overnight but the next morning was reasonably fine and sunny. We wandered up the track & found this one prior to heading off.
Another short but steep climb with more great views. Thanks Tassyexplorer for anoth great hide
Today is Easter Saturday and this location is certainly a very popular camping spot over the Easter holiday period. There were at least 20 different camp sites spread out over an extensive area and occupied by people of all ages. There appeared to be a gender difference in the activities of the campers. The females were generally sitting around noisily gossiping and singing. The males were doing blokey things, in particular riding quad bikes and dirt bikes through the camp grounds and up the very steep tracks in the tree plantations on the other side of the road. Given that they were next to the river, some may have been fishing but we didn't enter the camping area and so, cannot confirm this. The campers seemed to be engrossed in their activities and did not notice us using our GPS to locate GZ. We approached this cache by walking down the road and then up through some light bush. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. Then we discovered that if we had come in another way, it would have been much easier - needless to say, we used this way to get back to our car. After a steep but thankfully short climb an easy find with top views. Had been fire fighting all around here several yrs ago...quite hard terrain but many tracks. Did a lot of mapping of the surrounding plantations too....almost 40 yrs ago....how time flies. Many thanks Tassyexplorer for the return visit which I was thoroughly enjoying...cheers.
