This cache has taunted me for a long time...and I'm not sure why I made a bigger deal than necessary of it. I woke up crazy early this morning, so decided to go find a few caches before visiting Mum. My map only indicated about 1 main track...but once closer to the hill, the area was crisscrossing with them. Nevertheless, the hint, a bit of sense, and luck had me take the right path from start to almost finish (failure to turn right on the way back had me down at the water's edge). A very enjoyable jaunt that is deserving of more visits. Unfortunately Valentine's Peak was in the cloud, although I could just see it's shape at one point..unless I was imagining it. Thanks for the top cache, Tassyexplorer, it was perfectly dry inside and in great condition.

Hi Tassyexplorer
Have never been to this spot before.
Found the cache quite quickly and easily.
Signed the log at 1240hrs.
My achilles is playing up again so found the steep terrain a little difficult but got there!
Now off to the mule track.
TFTC and cheers
OldSaint.

I have enjoyed several scout camps at the facility below so I felt quite at home walking down the track and up the hill. It was a much more enjoyable climb than the usual trek with moaning /exuberant scouts and I made quick time to the cache location. The Peak was well hidden, actually the valley was well hidden, by the clouds and lashings of rain that drifted past. Lots of fora to photograph and I considered crossing directly to the next cache but caution prevailed. Thanks TassieExplorer for this bushland cache..

Found on our find the caches published since our last visit to the coast and this was one of them. After finding A mule track for copper and Steam wheel in the bush we continued on to this one. It was a beautiful day to walk in the bush and the cache was soon spotted once at GZ . Thanks Tassyexplorer for showing us this area and for the cache.

It was a lovely day, so we decided to return to this area to finish off the caches. This one was a lot more straightforward than the others; we found the correct track quite easily (the hint about the tanks was helpful!) It was a steep and hot walk but the cache was very easily findable. Unfortunately, Mr. Valentine was hiding in the clouds today. It was a nice walk in the bush, though, thanks.

This cache popped up so took 4paws for a walk...though he didn't climb the last short steep section due to crook joints...but the walk will do him good. Surprised to see the cache position...reckon it will last as it would be unlucky for someone to stumble upon it by accident. View was under cloud...but enjoyed the brisk walk though. Many thanks for another enjoyable peak around this bushland...cheers.

After a weekend of very wet weather we decided to take an early morning walk. The publication of this cache determined where we would walk. We had been this way before when we took a wrong turn whilst looking for another cache in the area. So today was a walk over familiar territory. The hill didn't seem as steep nor as long today. Once near GZ we were surprised to find a very exposed cache - we wondered how long it will survive given the many people who use the area for a variety of purposes, particularly scouting. Low cloud to the west hid St Valentines Peak this morning but we could see that you would get a cleaar view of it from GZ on a clear day. We were hoping, and were not disappointed, for a FTF.
