Description
The Meekatharra Community Resource Centre has hidden a cache in the red covered outback near the airport.
Meekatharra is located about 765km north of Perth. This cache will get you out to the heart of the outback. It is close to the Meekatharra airport and requires a 4wd to get you to the location.
The cache is an old ammunition container and contains a logbook and pen, business cards and plastic gold coins which can be exchanged for other goodies :)
On your way through Meekatharra please take a moment to find our cache and then come into the CRC and exchange your gold coin for 15minutes free internet.

Two caches for the price of one here, now its off to the CRC. Thanks MeekatharraCRC.
After finding the nearby Meekatharra International we headed across to look for this one.
It took a while to find this one and was not hidden in the style we expected. But perseverance paid off and we soon had the log book in hand. Couldn't believe that it hadn't been found since April last year but then realised we were dealing with a GCA cache. It's such a pity that a lot of the geocachers in Australia don't support these caches.
We have been caching in lots of rocky areas recently but this area was quite a bit different than anything we'd seen before. Very rough surfaced rocks and so many holes that would make perfect cache hides.
This was the last cache for us to find in the area today and then it was back to town for lunch, which we had in the nicest little park with lots of lush green grass.
Thanks, a great cache and container to finish up with here.

Continuing my trek north to miss the southern winter. Today I moved from the Big Bell ghost town to a spot just south of Kumarina. I picked up several smileys on the way. I was in the neighborhood, picking up a nearby GC cache, so couldn't pass this one up. It took a bit of finding but eventually I spotted the "not normal" and Yippee! there it was. A short drive past the airport and I was on me way toward a rather nice looking hill not far off the main road
Then a quick scramble up the rocks got me to the cache hiding spot.
Which was not easy to spot !!
Where's the suspicious pile of rocks ??
While wandering around,
I did notice a suspicious pile of rocks at last !!
Oh I should have guessed, this is a mining towne and all treasure is hidden in a ... 'ahem'

Mr Felix is in Meekatharra for work and managed to pop into town today for lunch and just had to find some caches whilst in the area.
Thought this was going to be a FTF, but seems it's only a FTL as the log was signed back in March?
He did however pop in with his coin to the visitors centre say g'day and grab a bag of goodies
