Description

Collingwood River still flows after the AFL grand final and I need help too.

Yes I am afraid I need help here on this one. I took the coords and put them in the draft, had a looked at the map and they weren't right, so I went to google earth and reset the coords to what I expect they should be. Now everyone knows you get a bit of driffrent coords readings at times. I parked the car only 3 to 4 meters away from the cache. So if someone is going past and wants to look for it great let me know.I expect the last three numbers to be on the S 780 to 785 and the last three numbers on the E to be 710 to 724. I did three chaches that day and this happened twice, maybe the tall timber gave me a odd reading. This part of Tasmania is so good to see. The road is sealed but many turns and be carful in the wet as leaves from trees can make the road surface very slippery. So many mountains to view do not be in a hurry. Call into and look at The Wall at Derwent Bridge, it is only ten bucks entry but you will not see anything like it anywhere eles in the world. It is a long drive from Hobart or Strahan from the west however if you like the outdoors this area is the outdoors at its best. Oddly the name collingwood isn't the best. Parks and Wildlike say more Collingwood River signs have been stolen then anything in the area many years ago as now the sign is fixed a little better.

This one took some finding as a lot of dead vegetation had hidden it extra well. We were just about to give up after a very frustrating search when it was found. Very Happy TFTC.

After attending the Geocaching 102 Event in Hobart the previous evening, we decided to head home via the West Coast and along the way try to meet the requirements for the locationless cache "GA2512 A Busy Day (Eight For One)". Along the way we looked for some other caches.

This cache had been published since we last travelled this part of teh highway. hence, despite some difficulties with the cache and the last log being a DNF, we decided to stop and limit ourselves to 15 minutes. We used the coordinates provided by Oldsaint (thanks for these) and within about 10 minutes, the small container was located. The container and its contents were in good condition.

Geohubby and I had picked this cache as a likely spot to leave a Sawaggie travel bug we picked up 3-4 weeks ago. When we collected the Swaggie he had been resident in that cache for several months so we wanted to move him somewhere that he would be collected fairly soon to extend his travels. We noticed that this cache had had a couple of quick finds and is on a major highway so thought that would be the go. However we were unable to locate the cache with the gps after checking around what looked like a couple of short geotrails.....obviously we hadn't parked in the right spot. Had found the nearby GC cache very quickly. The first rule of travel bugs........you must actually find a cache to put it in....duh!! Next time we'll put our glasses and thinking caps on and might have better luck. TFTH [^]

Took some finding but signed the log at 1140hrs. Guessing where you parked was a small problem and looked in a few different places along the road. Searched for a while before finding "Collingwood" which actually helped me find your cache.
I found it at S42 09.785 E145 55.716
Left the cache hidden as you had. Another enjoyable Tassyexplorer cache.
TFTC, the FTF and fun.
Cheers OldSaint.
