Description
A bit of History...
Building new roads is quite a challenge for today's politicians... It's much easier just to re-brand an old one!
Over the years many of Adelaide's roads have changed name, some more than once...
Below is a list of roads from 1949. What you have to do is find what the current name is and count the number of letters in the current name.
Exclude any road/street/ave/drive/ect. ie. Sir Donald Bradman Drive would be 3+6+7=16
A = Eastwood Tce
B = Irish Harp Rd
C = Tapleys Hill Rd (I know this one still exists but it used to be quite a bit longer)
D = John St
E = Sweetmans Rd
F = Burnside Rd
G = Victoria Tce
H = Rowland Rd (This one has changed a bit over the years!)
I = Wellington Rd
J = Lower North Rd
K = Shierlaw Tce
L = Routledge Rd
M = Outer Harbour Rd
N = Felixstow Rd
O = Nottingham Ave
P = Kircaldy Beach Rd
They are all major roads today, but may not have been back then...
If you get more than one answer use the longest one (longest distance NOT name)
The cache is at:
S 34° 55.[A-B-C+(D*E*F)+G+(H*I)+J*K+(L*M)+N*O-P+8]
E 138° 36.[(A+B)*(C+D+E+F+G)+(H+I)*(J+K)+(L-M-(2*N))-O-P-26]
Getting a good GPS signal at GZ was quite difficult for some reason but the coordinates have been checked on google earth and there is a hint if you get stuck
And the listed coords are for a road that didn't exist in 1949 (well it was no where near as major as it currently is!)
And the mound of dirt that GZ is on was once a tramway many years ago...
And there is a pathtag for FTF!
Good Luck!

Early in 2021 I received an invite from GoosenEgg and Stainless Steel Rat to join them on a caching trip to the Mega in South Australia. As planning got underway some caches with high Favorite points, very old caches, and the On Your Bike Series were listed as "must-dos"
The trip ended up being 10 days of solid and very enjoyable caching with quite a few highlights. The find count for the trip was around the 950 mark when all GCA, Adventure Lab, and GC caches are included. The high point for finds was a day of 335 finds in the one day, which would have been more, but a sudden storm put the end to caching for the day. No one was interested in getting out of the car to find a cache in a downpour in the dark
We were lucky enough to find Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin's Cache, and my favorite for the trip Barossa High (From 21st of January 2001 with the original log book still in place) all in the one day.
Unfortunately, the caching around the mega was beset by bad weather and the day we had put aside for Mount Gambier was scrapped due to a covid case in Mount Gambier on the previous day, so we avoided the area. We all enjoyed the Fishing series and just managed to get the remaining of these before the light failed for the day.
In the end I managed to completed my D/T grid for the first (and possibly the second time) which was my aim for the year, although some of the D/T combinations were not really achievable in Tasmania without a 3 day overnight bush walk.

thanks for the cache
TFTC Laighside Legends!
Nice to get this off the unfound list, although I did make it a driveby and not a walk.
Took a while to locate the cache and was almost about to walk away, but I decided to check somewhere else and finally spotted it.
This is an enjoyable puzzle and a cool hide, and a lovely final GZ. Just a pity that only a handful of us will get to appreciate.
Brought Fritz The Cat along for the visit as I knew he'd appreciate the puzzle too.
TNLN, TFTC Laighside Legends
One of those roads looked quite familiar with Fritz getting lost there last year and the rest were quickly worked out.
A minor problem with sorting and I had a dodgy location, but was soon back on the right path, and a "Those coords are good" from the GCA checker.
Walked to GZ in my lunch break, but alas couldn't find anything - and wow, no visits for almost 2 years.
I'll be back (after some consultation).
Cheers
At first, trying to find answers on the Internet was getting us nowhere. It turns out, I already had all the answers on my PC, so it was just a matter of trawling through it all and finding the necessary names. There sure were a few surprises in there!
Today we made our way to the calculated GZ and found the cache almost immediately. The padlocked metal box nearby almost fooled us as a decoy. We then made our way to find another puzzle cache nearby that we've had the corrected coords sitting in GSAK for years.
Thanks Laighside Legends, nice puzzle.
The whole family helped search for the answers and soon the solution was in hand. The was one failed attempt to find the cache (school holidays, way too many muggles near GZ) today was a little quieter and as I approached GZ I was spotted! Great to catch up with Laighside again and to make the find, Definitely recommend this one for a great puzzle!
(I think the fact that most of the people watching this cache are all at the ozmega, is probably the only reason that I was able to claim the FTF!!!)
