Description

This place of rest holds sentiment for the Landy_clan as Mr Landy's grandfather resides here. The family were early settlers in this area. Its ironic that the land that was cleared by hand all those years ago in order to grow food has now been converted to a tree farm that will feed no-one. The family, all 11 in total, lived in a three room house built from the trees off the land. Oh how things have changed. Would any of us survive that sort of existance.

Sorry but looks like another one has gone.

Had a good look but no luck. A warning to anyone else who searches for this one, there's broken glass in with the crumbling pieces of the stump at GZ.

05-Oct-13
Found the stump, but could not find a cache. The stump is falling apart and in bad condition. I believe this one is gone and needs to be archived

Had to rummage to find. Stump is rotting away and lots of holes at base. A peaceful resting spot. TFTC.

Ive always thought it amazing how headstones face to the east for the rising sun to shine on them. This cemetery proves they all face that way but I hope I'm right about the reason Rolling Eyes Thanks for the cached Landy Clan

Hi Landy_clan
A very quick find at 1536hrs. I'm always glad that I am warm and upright when I visit one of these centres.
TFTC and cheers;
OldSaint.

It was drizzling so we didn't take the time to explore the area. Very quiet spot though. Thanks for the cache, Landy clan.

The gravestones all look odd facing away from the driveway towards the hill.

04-Apr-12
This one didn't take long at all. I did see the early prints of 2y's though...such was the heavy due up here. TFTC...Cheers.

Unfortunately we too have connections with this location, with two relatives buried here within the last decade. Although set on a rise facing north and north-west, it can be a very cold location. We recall our feet were freezing as we attended one of the grave side services and burials. Thanks landy_clan for the cache and for bringing us back here for other reasons. And congratulations to Spreyton22 for their second FTF in quick succession.
