Description

Another cache in the I've Cached Everywhere Man series - this time in Engadine

I've Cached Everywhere, Man is the largest cache series hidden in Australia. It is made up of the locations made famous by Lucky Star in the song "I've been everywhere" in 1962, lyrics by Geoff Mack.

I did not even realise Engadine was mentioned in it until this series came online.

Engadine is bounded by The Royal National Park to the east, and Heathcote National Park to the west. Visitors to the suburb can view across the Sydney Basin from its southern edge across to the Sydney CBD. The area also features rolling sandstone slopes and cliffs in places, with an abundance of native trees throughout. Natural landmarks include 'the Needles' and 'the Blue Lagoon' along the Woronora River, and the Engadine Wetlands to the east of the railway station.

A BYO Pen micro cache

Careful of traffic while at the roadside, and beware of muggles watching from the skate park.

Finding a few GCA cachers today, thanks to Steptoe Shocked

I have a reason to start doing some local GA caches.
Given that my GC goal is to lift the D/T rating to 1.9/1.9 for my 8,000th find (I am on 6,400 @ 1.82/1.79 now) and that we are doing the York Peninsular power trail in March (over 400 in a day mostly 1.5/1.5 and nearly 1,000 all up), I am trying to avoid doing any GC caches under a 3/3.
With this handicap and the Journey or Destination game drawing to a close, it is time to spread my wings and keep caching by doing GA caches and at the same time try to get myself into a position where I will win a PathTag.
Thanks for providing caches.

Found with the geofamily and muggle mum before a trip to the beach.

Geodad had the GPS and was all over the place. We just stood and waited until he sorted himself out...

Caching around the area today and before meeting up with friends at a GC event in Engadine we collected a few GA caches nearby. Thanks for the cache steptoe.

A bit obscured by other structures. I walked around a bit before I spotted it.

Go passed this spot so many time only checked once assumed it was trapped as it hadn't been logged for quite a while. Was made aware the cache had been found recently. Today was a chance to find it. Sat in the car to get the info required. Thanks for the cache steptoe

I love the ICEM series, and good to see there’s still a few of them going. An easy find in the obvious spot. It’s not everyday that you see No_Tommorrow’s name and my own on the same page together, pleasantly surprised.

Nice quick find after a long DNF. Just killing time while MrGT disses stuff at Stanwell. Very glad to have a car today. Smile

Finally I came through Engadine on my bicycle and got this one. It was *SCARY*, dead spiders on both sides of the container. Thanks!

Good quick find...no problems, even with the school run traffic.

A nice quick park and grab. It was a shame the car park was full! But, I got a little walk instead.

A quick find. Which is good as I didn't want to be out in the rain for too long.
Thanks for the cache.

I've tried a couple of times to stop and look for this one, but always too many people about. Made it a night run instead, out walking the dog with Catherine, and stopping on the way. It worked!
TNLNSL, thanks for the cache!
best wishes,
Wal

Since I was at Sutherland station I thought why not catch the next train to Engadine and go for another ICEM cache! A quick walk from the station and the cache was soon in hand.
Thanks for the cache.

If there was no traffic I could have reached out and grabbed it. Nicely hidden and oh so easy to extract!!!

Saw this on my radar, but thought it was a GC cache. Found and SL rather quickly. Oh well, still a smilie. TFTC

Found it at my first go. I have left a stubby pencil for those who forget to bring something to write with. TFTC.

A short stop on my way home had me right at the cache.

Awesome FTF! Surprised me after a week. Not many gca cachers down here obviously! Taught at Kirrawee then saw this was unloved so came to make the grab on a very hot afternoon. Smile
