Description
A simple drive-by in a rural township.
The focus of this cache is Fentonbury, which lies between Westerway and Ellendale in the upper Derwent Valley. It is a farming area but also sometimes used as a tourist base for exploring Mt Field and the Styx, or fishing at Lake Meadowbank not too far away.
This cache is part of the I've Cached Everywhere, Man (ICEM) project, the largest cache series in Australia
It is made up of the locations made famous by Lucky Star in the song "I've been everywhere" in 1962, lyrics by Geoff Mack.
Tassie gets its own verse thanks to Hookline:
GCA Verse 6 by hookline
I've cached in Ulverstone, Dulverton, Smithton, Burnie,
Queenstown, George Town, Campbell Town, Swansea
Lilydale, Scottsdale, Berriedale, Bicheno
Rosebury, Fentonbury, Dodges Ferry, Jericho
Cockle Creek, Lake Leake, Sisters Creek, Winnaleah
Wayatinah, Poatina, Tulendeena... yeah, I've cached there!
Fentonbury was named after Michael Fenton who was one of the original landowners and hop growers near New Norfolk and also a member of the Legislative Council in the mid 1800's.
As you drive through Fentonbury, you will notice an old war memorial across a paddock which is fenced off and with no apparent access. Two houses overlook this spot, so the cache is placed further along the road where it is safe to pull over.
3km from Fentonbury is the charming and well kept township of Ellendale. This has an appealing general store, lovely old churches, public toilets, a memorial recreation ground, accommodation and a BBQ area sporting a locally themed mosaic by the local schoolchildren (coordinated by "el golco" who some cachers will know).
The cache is a small cliplock container containing logbook pen etc and a few small swaps.

Thanks for the search anyway Dippy
Had a look about for this one but didn't manage to find it. The tree is attempting to grow back but so are all the other bushes/plants in the area.
Found an Eclipse mint tin cache so I signed that one.
Now to drive up the road to see if I can get to Belchers Lookout - no, I can't.
Thanks for the cache Dippy.
Thanks.
Sorry for the late log I didn't realize I hadn't logged it until today when it sowed up as not found as I was driving nearby.
It was an easy find.
Been meaning to visit Ouse,Hamilton and surrounds for a while now but never quite got there. Today we did a round trip to make it happen.
We managed to find your cache on our journey.

With geovan in tow we managed to stop and make a quick find. TFTC
We cannot recall having been through Fentonbury before and enjoyed seeing the area. As we approached GZ we speculated as to the location of the cache and sure enough, a quick serach and the cache was in hand. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Dippedidooda for this cache and for your contribution to the ICEM series in Tassie.
Personal Milestone: This was our 6000th find and an amazing coincidence. Recently we have been in contact with Dippediddoda and she noted that we were getting close to this milestone. The amazing aspect is that the 6000th happened to be one of her caches. Thanks to all geocachers for hiding caches and enabling us to get so much enjoyment from this wonderful hobby (obsession?).
I found the cache while oldsaint talked to numerous cachers about his success earlier in the day with Big Fibs. More on that in the Big Fibs Log.
A nice cache hide Dippy
The house near made it a little interesting but i think i made it un-noticed.
Have been confined with that flu you had not so long ago and needed to get out today.
Found JABs series around the beach and then got in the car and went for a drive. Finished up here.
This was a quick, easy find, described perfectly even though those in the pinkish house tried to make it as difficult as possible.
While the men unloaded sheep in the paddock next dorr to the house, the farmer's wife and daughter kept watching them or me from the balcony.
Never-the-less, the cache was nabbed, the log signed and the box returned without being noticed; I think.
Thanks for the drive, a great cache and the game of dodgems.
Congrats to Polfil on the FTF.
TFTC and cheers
OldSaint.
