Description

A simple traditional with plenty of parking

Based on the book "Do androids dream of electric sheep?" (1968) by Philip K Dick, the movie "Bladerunner" was set in a post-nuclear world where replicants were indistinguishable from humans. The replicants were used for all the distasteful or dangerous activities on the off-world colonies, and prohibited from Earth. Replicants found on Earth were subject to immediate "retirement" by Bladerunners.

Resuming the storyline of the book for this cache, Deckard, a Bladerunner working in San Fransisco has just encountered the replicant Luba Luft, posing as an opera singer. [In the movie, this scene was replaced by Deckard's encounter with Zhora, the exotic snake dancer.] She distracts him and calls the police who arrest him on suspicion of being suspicious. He is taken to "a" police station for processing. Taking off in the police hovercar he realises they are going the wrong way:

Deckard: "The Hall of Justice...is north, on Lombard"
Police Officer: "That's the old Hall of Justice. The new one is on Mission. That old building, it's disintegrating: it's a ruin. Nobody's used that for years. Has it been that long since you last got booked?"

Deckard rapidly realises he has been busted by the replicants, and he is not going to make it to the next cache. The replicants have not just made it back to Earth, they have created an entire network to protect themselves.
After being booked for three offences that would make a great puzzle cache clue, he meets another Bladerunner by the name of Phil Resch. They realise Resch's boss Inspector Garland is a target on Deckard's list of replicants. Garland also tells Deckard that Resch is a replicant as well but doesn't realise it. Resch claims to be human on account of his owning and caring for a pet squirrel. Only humans can really care about another living creature, can't they? Deckard tests himself with his own Voight-Kampff machine but starts to question his own existence... Do androids dream of electric sheep?
The twists in the parallel realities get quite tangled at this point. Most of this is lost in the movie unfortunately.

Finding the cache shouldn't be a problem. Avoiding replicants might be harder. Bring your climbing gear too, (for the adjacent business). Please rehide carefully - it can be tucked under the leaf litter in the tree out of sight of the carpark. The coordinates in the aerial photo look spot on.

NB: those of you reading this particular description will be aware of a parallel reality that is not allowed to be mentioned elsewhere. It's up to you whether you log here, there (Parallel Reality; GC) or both.

Pretty sure I found the location, but after poking around in pine needles with stick didn't find anything.
Suspect might've been taken.
If I'm mistaken, please let me know.

Found on our 2018 mega trip from NSW to QLD, the NT, SA and beyond.
Another cloudy Winter day for a drive around while at Adelaide.
Many muggles around today and a good quick find.
Thanks for the cache FourW, and the duplicate of course, cheers from the Riverina, NSW,
Roostaman

Thanks to J&J for the update, I have fixed a couple of things in the description and the new coords. Happy hunting!

For future finders, this cache has been moved to S34° 51.395 E138° 39.462

A surprisingly easy find, as it stands out like a sore thumb. I guess the hint is still fairly relevant in a way, as the cache looks like it was discarded at the same time as the needles and other strange objects under the bush. I wouldn't normally want to touch it either.

I timed my visit very well here. Just after I replaced the container and turned back toward the car, a worker from the business emerged from the door just ahead and looked straight down the path at me as I was fidling with the GPSr. I'can't have looked too suspicious, as he paid me no attention. Last time I was out this way on a GCA hunt, the police became involved!

Thanks FourW.

Staying in Adelaide for a week we have been focusing on finding some GCA caches and this was one of them. Have driven around the outskirts of Adelaide on previous visits to SA so nice to stop this time and let geocaching be our guide. Easy find once at GZ, cache and contents are in good condition. Thanks FourW for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

I have reinstated the cache, but about 50 m east of the original hide. About the second or third large shrub from the corner of the climbing gym.

We were disappointed to not find this cache today, as it could have helped us out in the current Scavenger games being run on Geocaching Australia.

I assume there used to be bushes growing near the tree, but they've all been levelled now.

I found several pieces of bark linked together with wire but not cache container underneath or nearby.

It might be time for an owner check.

Easy find. Hmmm... kind-a feels like cheating, logging this cache twice, once on each GC & GCA

Quick and easy find.
Was one of my first finds and a delight!

Always nice to be able to delete two waypoints from the GPSr with a visit to one spot Very Happy
It makes so much more sense having a Parallel Reality on GCA and confuse those that only look at GC Very Happy
A nice quick find, having fired up the GPSr to see what was nearby as I had finished an errand nearby. Sometimes I wish I could disappear to another parallel reality and just cache Very Happy

We went to look for this cache after dark. We wanted to use a torch but the many muggles using the nearby establishment meant that we had to search with only the ambient light. Despite that we were able to make a quick find. the cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks for the cache FourW.

Replaced the dual cache with a generic 1 litre screwtop jar, but only 1 logbook. Pity it keeps going missing. Those replicants keep taking it!
Rehid behind the tree, hopefully it won't get noticed as easily now.

Woohoo, two logs for the price of two!!
It was a fun find in an area I haven't been for years.
Cheers Don't Blink

Although I was one of the first finders when the Groundspeak cache came online, I just logged the 'other side' of this cache, while moving some bingo hubcaps through.

Found during a foray into the north-eastern suburbs. Nice to have the opportunity to log this twice! Thanks for the cache FourW!

Greetings from Tasmania

Found this cache while on a caching trip to Adelaide. Found some great caches while there including a 5 difficulty traditional (I'm a Bastard 2), a 4 terrain traditional (Tapleys Bird) and many great hides in great locations through out Adelaide. Thank you Adelaide cachers for planting so many good caches. My wife did ask me to pick a favourite, and I think Besser Block Mail Box would have to be it, by Tamam Shud, Zen and the Art of Geocache Maintenance and the two above would be up there as well.

I did manage to find 250+ caches in the 5 days I had caching in Adelaide, and would like to thank Astro and Freddo for taking me on a night cache on the first day and Astro for giving me a couple of hints on some that I was stuck with.

Let me apologies for the generic log, especially if I have found more than one of your caches.

Closest cache to dads house on fathers day...TFTC

Found this one some time ago and logged on GC. I intended to due the Parallel log thing, but somehow this slipped through the cracks, sorry for the delay! Sad

Found while night caching through this area. Fortunately the only humans that rolled by during my visit were agents of the Hall of Justice, and they didn't find me interesting enough to stop. Or maybe they had more important replicants to hunt ! TFTC FourW!

Was going to get this one last Thursday on way back from town after an appointment but it was freeeeezing cold and bucketing rain and a tree was uprooted across the main road right near there - how it didn't hit any cars is beyond me as it's always a busy road. Anyway, we just kept heading home. Today was calm and sunny and perfect. Loved the cache container.

The camouflage is not a tight fit, but will cover it sufficiently. I added a wire to hold the end piece on (loosely).
Please rehide carefully (behind the tree should do the job).

GC had it published earlier than I thought... these replicants are good!
