Great Northern escape 2022 Day 48. Atherton Day 3. My third day trip was to the Malanda area. There was a set of Labs here and another waterfall to visit. A nice walk around town took me to three local caches before heading to the surrounding area. A nice chat with a local cacher who rescued me at one cache. Next was Millaa for lunch and a few caches, including one I failed last month. The day ended with a final Lab at Evelyn and home via a final earth cache.

I was not able to locate a cache here to day.

Thanks

One of 3 GCA caches that we were hoping to find today and didn't. Found the clues and the two of us had a lengthy search but we couldn't find anything and didn't want to disturb this beautiful area anymore than we already had. Think the last find was Nov 2014 by another Tassie caching couple. Perhaps in the intervening time it has just become too covered with leaf litter. Thanks.

Found on the NQ leg of our Round Aust trip
Found after an interesting meeting with some muggles at GC19J7Q, lol.
Charlie spotted the cache from the pathway, it was in the bushes but just sitting out in the open. The lid came off the milo tin pretty easily with the help of a key but the seal is damaged by previous finders, I have a feeling this may have been discovered by kids?
The tin contained quite a bit of water but somehow the log book was still dry. I poured out the water and then placed the log book inside a plastic screw top tub and then back in the milo tin.
I don't have any idea what the hint means??????? So have place the cache back nearby where I found it, still very close to GZ. It is under some suspiciously neat pile of sticks.
Hope it lasts QuestionPray Can only hope lol. EmbarassedRolling Eyes

I wandered over to the shed.
Gosh those are some big logs Shocked
And apparently 870 years old at the time of felling ShockedShocked
But relax, this tree was not felled, by man.
It just fell over one day apparently Sad

Meanwhile, down the back of the log emporium, I wandered in search of a cache.
I found both ends of the clue and began plotting where the cache should be.
If you are literal about things then the cache should be in the middle of the haystack Smile
I stuck me nose in behind a tree and there was a GCA smiley face looking back at me Laughing

The lid of the cache came off after a bit of a struggle to break the rusty seal, but the car key did the trick.
