Description

This cache is an entrant in the Geocaching Australia Moveable race for December 2012- January 2013. 'Bingo'

Okay so this isn't a traditional form of transport but Father Christmas uses it every year and the shop we were at whilst on holidays in Melbourne was selling an awful lot. So it must be popular!

Please move our cache to a simple hide and add a hint to help the next finder, after all the aim is to be found and moved ASAP. No tricky hides or way out woop woop hides will help this guy to move along or any others in the bingo game.

Please abide by the below rules and most of all have fun!!!

Thanks for being part of bingo.

 Regards

D&D, FelixII

 Rules (not guidelines)

  • The game commences at 00:00:00 1 December 2012 AEDST and concludes 23:59:59 31 January 2013 AEDST
  • The game administrators decision is final
  • You can find and move your own cache during the game period provided it is not the caches first move
  • Caches must be found and hidden by the same cacher (i.e. no mailing the cache to another cacher to hide)
  • Only moves count towards your bingo card and you must move the cache at least 1km to count as a valid move
  • There is no limit to the distance other cachers can move the cache
  • Other cachers in the game will find / move your cache, but they are requested to move it on within 2 days

Attended the 'Australia Day Moveable Event 2018' and came face to face with other like minded cachers, one being another lucky (luckyl10n) and 101 moveables in the area. Many thanks to the CO's who have published them over time and others who bought them together for the event.

26-Jan-19
At the end of the event this was one of the moveables I ended up with. Next it to find a place to hide it for the next finder. As the game ends they may be further apart between finds. Thanks for the moveable which was one of 101 that made their way to Ebenezer. Good luck on any further moves

The latest Geocaching Australia game runs from 01-Dec-2018 00:00:00 to 31-Jan-2019 23:59:59 AEST

For each qualifying geocache that you hide or find during the game period you will be offered the opportunity to click on a ground tile and reveal what lies beneath.

A moving cache, by nature, may have been moved since you last determined its location. It may have been picked up but not yet rehidden so it's considered 'in-transit'. There is no foolproof method of determining where a cache is simply by the log types that have been placed against the cache.

26-Jan-19
Headed up to Ebenezer with LuckyL10n to attend the Aussie Day event. 45 degree day made for a bit of a fun trip, however it was pleasant in the winery building. A good few hardy souls were in attendance as well as over 100 moveables. Some good conversation with cachers not met before and a good couple of hours was had by all. The trip home was a little different to what was expected but turned out ok....

26-Jan-19
Called into Tizzana Winery to buy some wine and saw the moveables and the list. The family wanted to continue on so said "Hi" to a few we'd previously met then headed on with some wine. Diolch for the moveable. I didn't pick up any.

Found this one at the Australia Day Moveable Event 2018 event held at Tizzana Winery in Ebenezer. Another fantastic turnout at the event run for the current 2018/19 Journey or Destination game being run on Geocaching Australia which saw a total of 101 moveables come together. Thanks for sharing.

What a great way to start the new year with a meet the movables event that saw 75 moveable caches and 10 geocacher caches in attendance. All was laid out so one could walk around the tables to sign each and every log before a swap occured to send them away again in a new direction.

After a failed mission to join the crew doing the ‘BLACK OPs - Carpe Noctem’ (GC32WN6) cache this weekend due to being unable to get time off work (on Friday and Saturday) and other commitments arising, Sad I did however sweet talk my way into having Sunday off. Smile This then lead me to take a look around and see what was available within my free day to make it a day out. After taking a look around the GC and GCA caches, I found 2 events on the same day close to each other and I decided on attending them both. Smile After this I took a look at what caches I could find along the way and made my trail to make it an enjoyable day out. Something I didn’t expect was, a FTF which was on cache GA13305. Big Grin This added to the fun. I would like to thank all the CO’s of the caches I found and for the fun and enjoyment I had while finding them. Big Grin
Today’s Totals: 44 Finds

This was one of the 29 moveable caches I found and signed today. TFTC

I spent the morning in the company of some incedible cachers from Canberra and Temora at an Event organised by Sol de Lune to enlighten us on the new GCA Game. I for one understand the game better now so thanks to SDL and Black Bunny for enlightening us. The weather was hot and sunny so at times chairs were moved around to stay in the shade. Masses of Movables appeared and were eagerly found but not moved by all present. Very Happy

A quick pickup of moveables today for a secret meeting to take place in just a little while. Your geocache would like to join the secret activities so it may not move for a little while but it will be safe and sound and will be moved along (and hopefully logged quite a bit) in the not too distant future.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for this geocache here today.

According to Wikipedia...
A sled, sledge, or sleigh is a land vehicle with a smooth underside or possessing a separate body supported by two or more smooth, relatively narrow, longitudinal runners that travels by sliding across a surface. Most commonly sleds are used on snow or ice, however in certain cases they may be used on any surfaces, especially on ones with relatively low friction, such as sand or wet grass. They may be used to transport passengers, cargo, or both. Shades of meaning differentiating the three terms often reflect regional variations depending on historical uses and prevailing climate.
In Britain sledge is the general term, and more common than sled. Toboggan is sometimes used synonymously with sledge but more often to refer to a particular type of sledge without runners. Sleigh refers to a moderate to large-sized, usually open-topped vehicle to carry passengers or goods, and typically drawn by horses or dogs. In Scandinavia particularly a sleigh may also be drawn by reindeer, as for Father Christmas.
In American usage sled remains the general term but often implies a smaller device, often for recreational use. Sledge implies a heavier sled used for moving freight or massive objects (syn. "stone boat"). Sleigh refers more specifically than in Britain to a vehicle which is essentially a cold-season alternative to a carriage or wagon and has seating for passengers; what can be called a dog-sleigh in Britain is known only as a dog-sled in North America.
In Australia, where there is limited snow, sleigh and sledge are given equal preference in local parlance.

We were in the area today doing the nearby Multi & whilst there Tyler & myself were checking out the Ascot Community Christmas Tree... Lots of lovely lights & baubles AND THIS MOVEABLE CACHE ClappingDancingShocked

Fired up GA App, but couldn't see this cache & now realise that it is archived... Perhaps the wrong co-ords were entered when it was moved or it may have been moved & not updated, but they were only a short distance away.

How appropriate being found just in time for christmas! Will move along soon Clan MinotaurVery Happy
