Description

Eyes on Rowes is at the top of Castle Hill edging out onto 1 of its 3 peeks to the summit. From here observant ones will have vast views of neighboring Magnetic Island and Rowes Bay below.

This cache is a small sized sistema container camo'd suitably, getting here you have 2 choices, the twisty road of Castle Hill or the famous Goat Track. Once at the top your GPS will lead you down the right path, where your "mountain goat" skills will come in handy.
Enjoy the views & enjoy the fresh air.

This hasn't been found in 5 years, I had a good look but couldn't spot it any where.

Great spot to sit and take in the views - which is what we had to do when a muggle came and sat near us. Got ourselves out of spot when he asked if we'd lost something and just moments before MrG had dropped her glasses. Shocked These are some of the best views around.....if we'd had to we would have tackled the goat track just to see them but as we didn't have to . . . . . TFTC mrmackie85.

Another GCA with a bit of time on it since its last find....

Headed up the hill today and out to the platform and with no-one else in sight, had the time to look around, and soon had the cache in hand. Log signed cache replaced and I was off the next one.

Thanks MrMackie85...cache all good. Clan CerberusClan Cerberus

WOW!! After our geomobile spit the dummy and trashed the alternator we made an unexpeced visit to Townsville....via the tow truck Sad

After getting the car back we headed up to these amazing views and while there decided to try for this cache. We suspected we were going to have a DNF as there was plenty of evidence of muggle visits (litter, unfortunately) but after a bit of a search clever Geohubby came up with the goods. Fifteen months since this one was found and it is syill in good nick.

The container has some green algae?? covering the outside but the log is clean and dry Very Happy

Fantastic views from here. Many thanks for the hide mrmackie85 Dancing

A quick find once we got a chance to search. Enjoyed the awesome views. Lots of get fit muggles walking and jogging up here and we drove past a lot on the way up. Didn't want to die caching so the van was the way to go for us. Thanks.

Our last cache in the Townsville area. We drive up here to get a great view of the town and surrounding areas only to find the area was very busy as it was a great location to view the V8 track from. While we were here we saw a fighter jet take off from the airport and then about 10 minutes later we were entertained by an aerial show that was put on for the V8 spectators.
Mrs Shifter went high and came in from above while Miss Shifter went low and climbed up. It was Miss Shifter who made the discovery on this one.
We spent a little time in the bunker imagining what it would have been like here for hours on end watching the horizon for enemy.
Thanks mrmackie85
