Description
HMAS Whyalla (J153/B252), named for the city of Whyalla, South Australia was one of 60 Bathurst class corvettes constructed during World War II and one of 20 built on Admiralty order but manned by personnel of and later commissioned into the Royal Australian Navy (RAN).[1] The ship was sold to the Victorian Public Works Department at the end of the war, who renamed her Rip and used her as a maintenance ship.[1] In 1984, she was purchased by Whyalla City Council, who put her on display as a landlocked museum ship in 1987.[1]

This cache looks like it's MIA so we'll archive it to stop it turning up in lists and queries. If it resurfaces then the owner can resurrect it by placing an "Unarchived" log against it.
Dropped by and collected the GC cache before searching high and low for this one without success. Maybe it up and sailed away?
It has taken me a while to move this one.

Our first for geo Aus site. Will move it up the coast in a couple of days

I've had this and a couple of others for a bit long but some wet weather has meant not much caching the last couple of weekends. Today I found myself down the other side of town with a bit of spare time so it was time to hop out. Found a spot between a nice oval and a busy road.
I got the honour of removing the moveables that had arrived at our event today so he is now sitting proudly on the desk in the back room. Time to find a new home soon, I might even take him down the south coast!
Been over to Whyalla a few times when I lived in Adelaide.

This will be at the event, don't look before then.
This is interesting. No logbook to sign and the tag has been washed out. Is this part of a race?
Great to see HMAS Whyalla (95) again at the Katoomba Blue Mountains 'Wander in the Wilderness' event . . . sponsored by Geocaching NSW!

Dropped up the Mountains at the GCNSW Event
Discovered this at the Geocaching NSW Event in The Blue Mountains (but left it there for someone else to move on).
(As mentioned by Tronador, no log book)

Wow that is a LOT of caches my BB brought home! I would have gone too but some of us had to go to work. Now my house is full of Gnomes, frogs, Bingos and Angels! I’m going to have to do something about this and start hiding them again before they take over our unit once and for all!
Operation: Dawn of War (Clan Phoenix Gnomeland Raid)
Cache Condition: This ship is sunk! Well, nearly The plastic tag is of course fine but the ship is 90% faded due to water damage creeping in the sides. Might nearly be time to consider archiving this one!
Operation Summary: Leaving Sydney at 4am to reach The Gnomelands by dawn I kicked off the 'The Great Mount Piddington Moveable Challenge' with a raid of freedom to release over 60 moveables from their mountain prison to freedom. 4.5 hours of morning caching saw a good few sack-fulls return with me to Sydney.
The caches have been moved to St Leonards for some TLC and a bath so don’t go looking for them there. They will be released shortly in various locations.

A quick move to the mountains for a short stopover. Don't bother looking it is gone already.
This one and its friends turned out to be an easy find, right with the local GC cache, no problem finding GZ and the nondescript caches were soon in hand. Still a moveable is a moveable regardless of what it looks like!

While visiting Perth, staying with family in Lesmurdie I grabbed a heap of moveable caches that had been in the area of the base of the falls almost all year. I'll move on in Canberra shortly.
Dropped off on an afternoon walk along the river.
Dropped off during a run to the charity bin.
Dropped off the HMAS Whyalla along with a few others in the fork of a lovely big tree, by a water course with flowing water. It was nice and shady here, I wish I could have stayed longer, although the tree was a little bit spikey in places... Safe travels!
I love when they move close to home Made a quick find and grab of this one, and will get it back out in the wild very soon! Thanks for the cache Robbo!
