Description

Waitin' for the Train - is part of the "Bull Fart" series.

Waiting for the Train

As you sit on the seat “Waiting for the Train” in this beautiful arbour, you will notice over your left shoulder the two word name of who planted it.

If you use the simple letter/number swap A = 1, B = 2,……..Z = 26. You can start to work out where the cache is to be found – BUT before you start the calculations you have to go 80 odd meters NNE to the road and find how far it is to Koroit via the rail trail.

The Cache location is:-

S 38° A.BC

E 142° DEF

A = 4th letter of the 1st word minus 1

B = 8th letter of the 1st word squared

C = Last letter of the 2nd word multiplied by 4, plus 2nd letter of the 1st word

D = 3rd letter of the 2nd word plus kilometres from Koroit plus 0.1

E = 4th letter of the 2nd word

F = 1st letter of the 2nd word

The cache is a small Sistema container painted matt black.

This cache is part of the “Bull Fart” series.

“FTF” GCA Pathtag in cache was apparently Snagged by Scoutersteff.

Passing through on our way home to Tassie we stopped with geovan in tow and wandered down the trail to solve this multi.

Our calculations worked out in the end and we were happy to make this find.

A quick geocache and a nice little trick.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for this geocache hide for us to find on our long weekend away in Warnambool, checking out the sites, the geocaches and the local TrigPoints.

This was the third multi we tackled this morning. We had no trouble collecting the data needed to find the cache container. We liked the interesting twist to the calculations but were pleased to find that our calculated coordinates took us to a spot consistent with the hint. Jack was not here but his furniture was.

Found some interesting items but no cache container. The area had been mowed recently and the grass cut very low. Amoung the grass, sticks and rubbish we found pieces of plastic that could have been the remains of a slashed sistema but no logbook was found. We left a replacement 200ml sistema with a small logbook hidden so that it was not visible. If Jack is at home when you visit you may have to wait until he stands before you retrieve the cache.

Thanks Smergol for another very interesting multi.

Our co-ords were a bit off for the WP but as it was the only thing that matched the description we went with it. We did our calculations and the final GZ didn't look plausible so we did it all again and came up with a different but better answer for the final location.
A quick find was then made at GZ after a short walk.
Thanks, the second GCA multi we have done along this track.

I had so much fun riding the pushbike out along the Bull-Fart trail yesterday morning, i came back for more fun riding out from Koroit today Very Happy

First on the trail was a nice spot to wait for a train that will never come.
Maths done !!
Mistake in maths noted, but unable to fix Embarassed
I headed off to what I hoped were the right coords.

Well the clue helped !!

The software I use for GCA allows me to create and save a log, which then appears on my cache list, but it doesn't actually update the log to the server. Consequently I'm the only one that could see my logs. I had no idea of this fact until I logged on to the web site today, and noticed my logs were missing from the lists. I will rewrite all of these logs to the respective caches, I will add the actual date I signed the cache log. I apologise to anybody who may have been effected.

Found this one from the clue mainly, muffed a digit in the maths, and the G.Z was 25 meters away, still within sight of Jacks favourite place. FTF with Scoutersteff who has snagged the ftf tag. sl tftc

Note: This was my error, I reworked the maths, and the coords are spot on if you get it right.
