Description

I was walking past here going to another cache placed by Lil Rafa and it brought back some memories of playing on the old golf course here.  It was always a struggle to the top of this hill, especially if your tee shot was hit to the right, which made the recovery shot very difficult.  This short par 3 (About 100 metres) was followed by a big tee shot down the hill.  The tee is still here and you can kind of see the view of the next tee shot.  The Green was down and to the right.  It was challenging to sit here and think you could hit the ball a long way.

Anyway, the short par three's green is still here, just a few bullrushes growing through it in places.

I hope you enjoy finding this cache

Hi Budgie....continuing the trek around the reserve on a bitterly cold morning.
At gz it was still frosty.

The cache is a clever hide, although it required a bit of hacking through the dense growth at the end. We have never been on this side of Gordons Hill before and will come back another day to do the track from here. Seeing this part of the old golf course, with the information on it's history provided, was really interesting and walking over the old green was a unique experience.

After finding the cache at the top of the hill Mrs Y'stassie made a quick descent. She was almost back at the entrance when she remembered there was another cache she intended to look for. This time she stayed on the track and soon reached GZ where she located the well hidden container. Cache was in very good conndition and the coordinates were good.

Thanks for this cache Budgietas. We remember the golf course before all the subdivision.

Hello Budgietas thank you for the cache.

I had only played on this golf course once and that was a very long time ago.

I have done a little work on the units that now replace most of the old course.

Tonight I made a quick find.

Found on Friday 7 August at 1750

Thanks for the cache Budgietas.
Returning home after a visit to the western shore, the GeoGSP and I made a short diversion to find this cache this afternoon.
I know this area very well. I used to walk to Rosny college from Lindisfarne back in the day, and we had a group of us that we picked up along the way. Starting in Lindisfarne, across the Bay to the bottom of Loatta rd, then up past Manly Ave, and then along St Helens Street, and then we would cut through the golf course to college. Was probably the long way there, but on the way home we would then stop in at everyone's house for afternoon snacks....thanks for the memories. A nice quick find at GZ.

FTF @ 10.15 am. We enjoyed the stroll to this new cache. Mr W. reminisced about playing golf here in the early 80's. A top spot for a cache. A good view across the new roof tops. TFTC
