Description
Another car wreck cache along the Nyari Fire Trail to encourage you to get out into the bush on your bike or on foot.
Although this hulk is pretty clearly a Nissan, it was very difficult to identify which model. The mystery with this wreck is not so much what it is or how did it get there; but what the heck happened to it??!! You will understand when you arrive at the listed co-ordinates.

Have been on a mission to hunt down some unloved GA caches and this one caught my eye. I have bombed out before on car wreck hides (eg the other Nissan on Porters Rd firetrail), so wasn't holding out much hope. Took ages to clear out a few years of leaf litter from the engine bay but finally started recognising some of the major components. Unfortunately my reserves were empty and quite damp. With the CO's permission, I have added a new log sheet for all the back seat drivers. Something that you won't see in cars of the modern era.

At first, after 5min, I DNF'd it and left it till I came back from the other caches up the track. Then on my return, I put my backpack down and was ready for a long search. I read a log that TC found it in the 2nd place he looked, so I tried that. Where would he go and look? I checked one place, then another, and then on the 3rd, BAM, found the little sucker. WOW, good spot. Not where I was thinking it would be. I SL and replaced. It was a little damp inside, but OK. TFTGAC PPE!

On a hot and humid afternoon I set off to do the Nyari five, including one on GCA.
This was the second one and again despite not understanding the car clue I found this in the second spot I checked!?!

Yurt and I went wandering through this cool gully on other caching duties and were looking forward to this newie on our travels. We decided it's a Datsun, perhaps the infamous 120Y. I reckon it got stuck here with a flat. Anyway, while Yurt talked about these being great places for snakes to live, I grabbed at something that looked a bit odd and was instantly rewarded without having to test Yurt's theory of herpetological habitation. As he points out, this is our second Nissan. The other had suffered more rust damage but had a better grasp of the third dimension. Thanks again PPE.

It was appropriate that I should look for this cache with Baktrak after concluding the Borg series - we'd found the original 'Nissan' cache with pjmpjm and rogerw3 sometime last year. After finding the other GC caches nearby by PPE we pushed on for this newbie which was quickly snapped up by Baktrak. It is an odd thing. The car looks like it's been crushed by a giant weight and yet why was it taken all the way out here?
My guess was a Datsun 120Y - Baktrak spotted a 'D' on the steering wheel.
Thanks!
