Description
Claytons Power Trail
The power trail you have when you're not having a power trail.
The CPT series was placed for a GC event to be held in Echuca on Anzac Day 2013. It started out with a plan for a power trail of GCA caches but ended up becoming a series of caches placed in various locations between Elmore and Mathoura.
CPT Mozzies
There is nothing special about this location. In fact, it probably not such a good location for a cache. The mozzies were quite aggressive and there's big potential for snakes in the warm weather. But, (there's always a but), it's near another cache and a smiley is a smiley, after all. |
Regular sized container with log book and pen.

Heading south towards St Arnauds with geovan in tow we stopped to find this cache. Quick find here. Cache and contents in good condition.

After having worked out how to get into this bit of roadside forest, it was a short trip from the last cache to this one. We were impressed how you managed to train the caches name sake to hang around the cache so well. In fact a few even followed us into the car!!
Heading on the return journey now back to Bendigo from the event outside Echuca, The Morris and I were making a few stops along the way. We did a good mix of GC and GCA caches then I headed further south back to Melbourne, phew it was a long day!
Thanks for the cache and the series WazzaAndWenches.

I was very keen to complete this section of the power trail after starting it almost 3 years ago. With LouiseAnne aboard we collected a few of the along the way to the event in Echuca. We completed a number of U turns before we achieved a break in the traffic and found the right track to make it a driveby - there were indeed some mozzies. TFTC W&W
Found on our way out of town. Heading to Melbourne to get the boat back to Tassie. We've really enjoyed our three week caching holiday on the big island, would have loved to stay longer. TFTC
No mozzies and the cache was grabbed without issue. Amazing there aren't more finds as it isn't that far off the main road..
Thanks for another one W&W....

Could have been a drive by but left the campervan near the highway and walked. Spotted the likely hide from 60 - 70 metres away and was spot on with our assumption although did check the wrong end of the object first. Fortunately not a mozzie in sight today. Thanks.
With the CVGT VI event in Echuca, we had the opportunity for some new local finds.
Thanks to WazzaandWenches we had a run to Elmore this afternoon to log some finds & head toward our GCA goal of 200 finds.
Once we had found the way in for previous cache, it was a short drive upstream for this one. No mozzies this evening.

No mozzies today just a fly or 10.
However a very peaceful bush scenario with a cool breeze ruffling the red gum foliage and only the murmur of passing traffic on the very busy highway to the west of GZ.
A truly magic place at this point in time.
Thanks once more WazzaAndWenches.
