Description
Claytons Power Trail
The power trail you have when you're not having a power trail.
The CPT series was placed for a GC event to be held in Echuca on Anzac Day 2013. It started out with a plan for a power trail of GCA caches but ended up becoming a series of caches placed in various locations between Elmore and Mathoura.
CPT Peppercorn
We rarely travel into or out of Rochy via the highway. Our normal road is along Railway/Clarkes road, crossing the railway line a little over 6km south of Rochy. It gives a good opportuniy to get around slow movving caravans and some of the heavier traffic.
Just south of the railway crossing you'll find quite a number of peppercorns lining the road outside Burnewang North estate. Their website tells the story...
Burnewang North is a historic property situated between Elmore and Rochester in Northern Victoria and consists of 2,500 acres of prime pasture, dryland Lucerne and irrigated crops.
In 2006, Cathy Hains purchased Burnewang North, Rochester with a view to establishing a fully commercial operation across all facets of farming including bloodstock, sheep and cattle livestock and fodder production (including lucerne and oaten hay).
Burnewang North currently runs a select band of 40 privately owned broodmares on the extensive property. The horses are raised with the utmost attention to every aspect of their well being by a dedicated group.
Since commencing selling yearlings in 2009 at the Melbourne Premier and Sydney Easter Yearling sales, Burnewang North has been playing its part in setting the standards for breeding in Victoria with consistently good results for our well-bred and raised yearlings.
With the benefit and experience of the Kingston Park fairytale and the extraordinary ongoing production record of Burnewang North, the owners look forward to showing the market the very best this outstanding property can produce.
Photos on their website are quite impressive and show a magnificent looking property.
The property is not open to the public but you can still visit a cache near the front gate. Watch out for passing vehicles, especially employees who may question you.
You're looking for a well hidden cache outside the property boundary. It contains log book and pen. Be sure to rehide it well so it doesn't get noticed by an employee checking the fences.
Logs
Once we extracted the logbook we noticed a thick layer of ant eggs in the bottom and a team of angry/excited little orange headed ants in the depression left by the lid. A quick sign and we replaced things as found.
Thanks for this cache WazzaAndWenches. We are glad that this hide has survived and is in good condition. We loved the Pepper trees along this side road.
Thanks WAW for the cache and the fun.
We are currently touring Victoria with our geovan in tow, using geocaching as a guide. We have visited many amazing locations through geocaching and today we found your cache CPT Peppercorn. An impressive specimen which guards this cache hide.

Found it as it was exposed about 2m.
Rehide it obvious spot.

Heading home after 5 days roaming around Victoria with LuckyL10n and stopped to try this one again. Looking at a different spot at first but then noticed the hide after a short search. Great little GCA hide and so glad we stopped to try again.
Thanks W&W....neat hide and a great spot for it....
Heading from Bendigo up to the event outside Echuca, The Morris and I were making a few stops along the way. We did a good mix of GC and GCA caches and made it to the event only a few minutes late.
Thanks for the cache and the series WazzaAndWenches.
The camo has been knocked off the top of the container but it's still hiding in it's correct spot.
Thanks anyway.
Thanks to WazzaandWenches we had a run to Elmore this afternoon to log some finds & head toward our GCA goal of 200 finds.
In fading light, we were almost ready to return to this one at a later date when Greg stumbled across the well hidden container. Thanks Wazza for a nifty hide that I am sure the "boundary rider" shouldn't find.
TFTC SL
We still have 2 left to find in this series and hope to manage them in the near future.
Loved this camo.
Thanks again Wazza.
Cheers, from Roma and Max.
