Description
Sky Pier...Sealy Lookout.
Coffs Harbour lookout has had an upgrade...pretty impressive!...a cache placed here to entice you to check it out and enjoy the view!
Lookout accessed via Bruxner Park turnoff from Pacific Highway, road is windy but is bitumen....Lookout is gated to protect from vandals at night...gates close at "sundown"...there is a call out fee if you overstay past sunset and get shut in.
There is another cache nearby but it is not close to the lookout, it too is behind the gates at night so inaccessible as a night cache..i hope you enjoy them both!

Logs
We couldnt find anything here today. Based on the last few logs, perhaps it is gone.
We will be back at some point

As per the past 2 logs, we came up and enjoyed the views but alas, could find no trace of the cache itself even with no muggles around to make my job harder. The place has changed a lot since we were last here just after the sky Pier opened ... now there's a cafe (unfortunately closed today), new picnic facilities and a tree adventures setup a little way down the hill.
Thae same as the previous finder the cache couldn't be located

The goal of this cache was achieved. It got us up here and we did enjoy the fabulous views. The actual cache and log appear to be missing.
Caching in the area with whitewebbs and this was one of the caches we found. What a great lookout thanks for bringing us here. Had to wait out some muggles before making the find.
Many thanks Earthly65 for publishing this cache and adding to our geocaching experience.

Day 78 Mainland trip (now heading to OZGM)
Out and about caching in and around Coffs Harbour with Tassie Trekkers and we stopped to find this cache. Did not expect this air walk deck to be here. What an amazing view and a very challenging cache as both Mr W and Mrs W don't like heights. The terrain rating of one seems a bit low! We had to outwait heaps of muggles but we had the view to take in. Once we got our chance we honed in and the log was signed. Recommended for the great views and for showing us this "Sky Pier". TFTC

I was in Coffs Harbour overnight for work, so had to grab a cache or two while I was here. I've been up this lookout a few times before so had an idea of where the cache might be. I was expecting a long search as there are so many places to look, but luck was on my side and I found it in the second place I looked. Signed the log then waited for a break in the muggles and popped it back where I found it.
Great spot to stop, and there's a coffee wagon up here now! Thanks Earthly65!

With 2 years of unlove I wasn't confident of finding the cache. Lucky for me I had a break in muggles visiting here and VERY Carefully holding my phone in selfie mode the cache was located. All good. A magic lookout and so glad to have been here.
Thanks EARTHLY65

Easily found once the spider webs were braved. The enclosed pencil needs a sharpener. GnTb
Being a little drizzly I pretty much had the sky pier to myself this morning. After using my camera as a mirror for a while around here, my arm grew sore and I gave up. Then I decided to read previous logs. Oh! I just wasn't looking at ALL possible places. Try again. Got it in seconds. But then the Sun came out and the people started coming. How was I going to get this back in time to get to the church at the bottom of the hill in time? I decided to take my camera out and pretend to take creative shots. A bunch of dirt bikes pulled up. QUICK! I put my camera down to 'change the lens' and placed it back without a single eye on me. Yay! Now to get to church on time! TFTC
Up in the area visiting my parents on the way to the mega, I was also throwing in a little bit of work with a line of sight check to the Sealy Lookout towers which are actually a bit north of the lookout. So after checking the view from the customer end I decided to drive up here and look back the other way. Not promising I must say.
However there were 2 caches up here to look for and this one hadn't been found in quite a while so I wasn't sure what to expect. However after a few minutes I had the Pier to myself and after reading previous logs about peering over the edge quickly had it in hand and signed. Nice to get a cache that hasn't been found for 18 months. Thanks earthly65.

Huh !!
I never even knew there was a lookout
Today I was keeping an eye on the GPS as I headed down some back road towards Coffs !!
And wadda yer know there was a cache showing up down some side road.
Off I headed.
At 7:30am the gates were open.
Advertised opening time is 8:00am.
I found out why !!
If you arrive before 8:00am then you get to enjoy the Leaf Blower sympony in B flat major
With the leaves blowing in all directions across the carpark I wandered out onto the bit of engineering.
Hmmm !!
I'm not impressed
Yesterday evening from the top of Mount Coramba I enjoyed a similar view out over the blue Pacific.
The difference was that from up there you couldn't see the ugly blot of suburban sprawl upon the coastal landscape.
Here it was all too obvious
But what about the cache ?
I had no notes
So I stood at the end of the plank and took me photo in cache it was a virtual i
But as I leant out over the edge I spied something clinging on for dear life above the trees
Yikes !! A cache
As I left I realised the pointlessness of the leaf-blowing muggles task.
New leaves were already falling onto the recently blown bits of the bitumen

Note to self: Read the description more carefully!
GPS took us 2 different roads that both twisted and winded their way up steep terrain and both finally petered out to narrow lanes to private property!
Was about to give up when we decided to ignore the persistent Karen [our GPS GUIDE] and try and get there ourselves.
Now if we had read the notes for this cache we wouldn't have had a problem, so I guess we can only blame ourselves for the wasted time.
It's strange that they have such a wonderful lookout up here and have obviously spent mega money and that they don't have a sign where you turn off the highway.
Thanks, it took a while but we finally it found it where I suspected it would be.
