Description
The Big Soldier
This is the last remaining item from the Uralla Military Museum, a popular Uralla tourist attraction but sadly no more. As the owner of the collection moved on, all items were auctioned. Now with the site for sale, the future of the soldier is unknown.
To log this cache you need a photo of the soldier with yourself, team or gps. Feel free to stand easy or enact your own pose next to the big guy.
There's plenty of parking for big vehicles on the side of the New England Highway.
Congratulations Tuena - FTF

I remember going into the military museum quite a few times as a kid. And now it's a bike shop! How things change. Good to see the old soldier still watching over the passers by and the travellers on the highway. Another cache checked of the list for this little visit to Uralla. Thanks Geono!

Thanks to Pa for chauffeuring me around a 100 kms circuit today. We added this cache at the end as we always seemed to miss it when driving around.
Thanks for yet another cache geono.

Day three of our trip south to the Mega and left Armidale bright and early. Parked closed and walked over. Looks like it will be star attraction for the forseeable future. Necessary photo taken. TFTC GEONO.

I really was in a bit of a hurry, and had planned to leave this bloke for next time, but when I caught him out of the corner of my eye, I had to visit and get the required snap to log him today.
He isn't at the coordinates given. You'll find him very close to S 30 38 56.4 E 151 29 31.2. That's where my camera says the log photo was taken, and that matches the address on Bright Street.
He's still where the Military Museum once was, but now he's keeping an eye on the Ural Motorcycle Dealership.
TFTC Geono. I'm looking forward to returning with time to enjoy the rest of your work.

Passing thru on way to a reunion so took a quick, lazy photo from the driver's seat with my new Oregon on the windscreen, soldier in the background. Much preferred my Magellan but sadly I broke the USB connection accidentally. I found more GCA than the other site so thanks for the opportunity.
