Description

Along with other new caches along Dooley's Trail, a great loop walk can be had by parking as per Secluded Falls cache, walking back down the road and along Chilcotts road, down the 4wd track to the river

where you'll meet up with Dooley's Trail at S41 18.894 E146 11.975

From here you can walk either north or south picking up various caches and combine into a loop walk going back up the Groove Creek track(which you've just passed before reaching this cache)....see notes

and map at....wilmotwalkingtracks.com/

Also, could Geocachers please note any fallen logs or debris across the track in their cache log as an aid to keeping the trails maintained. As you can appreciate that with the trail

extending over a large distance, maintenance is a real issue, especially with only a handfull of volunteers.

The cache is a small black container with log book, small swaps and pencil.

Enjoy!

Whilst tackling the secluded falls we continued down to the Dooley trail to grab this one as it was within reach. TFTC .

Today trimbletas and I were on a recon trip to work out the best way out of the dooleys trail, while here we headed down to collect the secluded falls caches. Then followed the track all the way down to the wilmot river where we found this cache then we followed the groove trail back up to the car.
Cache took a little bit to find as gps was erratic but soon located a good dry cache.
Looking forward to tackling the series in future.

Set out to do Dooleys Trail with Goose&Egg and Stainless steel rat, a beautiful area and worth a visit but not for the faint hearted if you do the entire trail at once I left a scout behind in all the caches that were big enough. At this point in the walk we decided that time was getting away from us and we'd leave the falls for another trip given how close it was to the road. tftc

This again was one where we searched for a good while but due to the low elevation of the hide were sure it had been washed away last year, so another replacement from the bag was used.
The bridge was in good condition considering it has been under water by the looks of it.

Replaced at 13:46

At this point, we knew we had bitten off more than we could chew. Crying or Very sad We made a hasty decision to skip the falls, comforted by the fact there is a road fairly close so we can come back another day. This cache was also replaced from SSRs supply so hopefully we got the location correct.

First for the day as we tackle another section of the Dooley Trail. After a steep descent from the Secluded Falls car park we reached the Dooley Trail and made the short flat walk to this one. This one was well hidden in the obvious spot. Dogs were glad to have their first drink here and a paddle in the water. Picked up our first leech here too. Thanks.

After visiting Secluded Falls, we decided to head down to Dooley’s Track to try and make a dent in that powertrail of caches. This one actually took us ages to find despite being in the obvious spot, because dirt and debris had settled down over the hiding place. But we got it eventually! Thanks Sirius.

Found on our caravan and caching holiday to the North West coast finding caches that had been published since our last visit and this was one of them.

After finding the 2 Secluded Falls caches we continued on to find 5 of the newly published Dooleys Heritage Trail caches. Here we stopped for lunch before continuing our journey.
Thanks sirius for an amazing and memorable days caching.

Having found the cache at "Dooleys Heritage Trail #6", we back tracked upstream to look for this cache. We walked for about 500m along the relatively flat river bank before climbing above the bend in the river and descending again (about 200m). We passed through where we had first joined Dooley's Track from the Groove Creek Track and continued on for a short distance to this cache. As we neared GZ gravity took effect on Mrs y'stassie but as she suffers from duck's disease, it was a short if not inglorious fall on a slippery slope. No injuries, not even her pride. Again, accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find with the cache and it's contents in good condition. Thanks Sirius Tas for another great cache in this series.

Hi sirius
Another caching day accompanied by Budgietas in the North West area.
I left home at 0500hrs, meeting up with the "flyer" at 0600hrs. I found 11 for the day while Budgie got 20 or 21. We got back to Budge's home at 2100hrs and I arrived back in Huonville an hour later.

"Dooleys Heritage Trail #7" was my ninth find for the day. Back tracked from the Falls to this cache. The log signed at 1358hrs. It'll be really good when the foot bridge here is finished; make the crossing just a little easier. On the way back we crossed here again and I went "A over T" on the wet duckboard and thought I'd broken my right pinky in the fall. After the numbness went it felt a little sore but it's fine today. Got a joint *FTF* with Budge on this cache.

Prior to this I had found "Chudleigh hut", "State of the Union"; those caches on Gog Hill; others found today included some of sirius Tas' new ones around the Wilmot River and a couple in Devonport.

Overall a long and in some places a hard day but very rewarding. We both scored on flip flop (leech) bite each in the Wilmot area; I even carried one in my clothing back to Turners Beach where it tried to attach to my hand. No blood in my alcohol stream - TeHeHe!
Thanks Budge for another great day.

TFTC and cheers
OldSaint.
