Description
meet and greet for some coffee, caching and beers 17 August 10AM
The small Alice Springs geocaching community will host an event on August 17th, International Geocaching day. The plan is to meet at Gloria Jeans coffee to fuel up on some caffine, and head off to find some local caches. This is an opportunity to find a cache on the 17th as well as meet fellow cachers. There will be limited seating in a couple 4x4 vehicles which could allow those who are in rental cars to get a few caches they might not otherwise be able to find. About 5pm, we'll meet up for beers at Monte's to celebrate the end of the day.
Logs
Attended this event and was looked after very well by redcentredazza and 2lostsouls. It was great to met this cachers and also dimorgan.
Thank you
Thank you
This is the first GCA Cache that I have loged.
I thought that we would meet for a coffee and then do a few local caches. I joined DiMorgan, Nana Nel, 2Lost-Souls and Redcenterdazza and we got to know each other a bit when 2Lost-Souls and Redcenterdazza advised what they were planning. Some 300Km and over a dozen caches later including 2 joint FTF's we came to the end of an experience that I will never forget.
The history, culture both European and Indigenous and environment were shown to us and the information shared was excellent.
If I could award a favourite, this shared day would receive one.
We have learnt more about how hard living in the outback is and have become more aware of so much of the Aussie way of life out here today. It is an experience to recomend everyone tries to share in their lives.
The chance to visit the 2 Million Cache has been important and I have shared this with a group of trackables I have collected and travelled with who's owners I hope have also learnt and shared from the experience. It is now time to move them into safe caches and allow others to share in the creation of their stories.

We met up at GJ's and then had an absolutely FABULOUS day, caching over 300km of the outback with DiMorgan, Wazza9, Nana Nel and Redcenterdazza. Logging this cache and I'm tired but very satisfied.
Thanks to everyone for the awesome day.

Arrived in town today, had heard about the event from 2lost-souls as we have not done any GCA caches. Looking forward to meeting the gang from Alice.
