Description
Access can be via the caches along the trail from the north or starting from Spellmans Bridge and heading north along the eastern bank of the Wilmot.
If coming from previous caches to the north the river will need to be crossed and may not be possible in winter flows.
With almost all the caches now placed along the whole trail, a longish day walk can be had starting at either end and utilising a car shuffle.
This section north from Spellmans Bridge involves quite a lot of rock hopping and climbing over some difficult sections.
Please be extremely careful on the rocks if they are wet. If it looks WET and SLIPPERY then iIT IS. A fall here could result in broken limbs.
As a general rule, stay off any flat surfaces if wet and stick to crevices and sharper surfaces.
If caching here alone, PLEASE follow normal bush walking protocols and if possible carry a PLB(personal locator beacon) which has been properly registered with AMSA.
The cache is a small black sistema container with logbook, biro, small swaps.
Please take care, but above all, enjoy the walk!

We then drove down to the end on River Rd off Swamp rd after reading that we could right down to the river level to continue the track from there to the north.
From Spellmans bridge we did a fair amount of rock hoping on very slippery rocks. there was a tree on the track back near #18 TRIMBLETAS got some coordinance for its position for track maintenance purposes.
A quick find after negotiating the tree back up the track, this cache was full of water so we drained it out, the logbook was dry in its double bags. TFTC
Another quick find on the track. TFTC
Found at 08:46
Coordinates a bit out. But found thanks to hint.
From #19 to #18 and really enjoying myself. Then I looked skyward as it seemed to have darkened as I was walking. Dark, ominous clouds had come across and it looked like it was going to pour down.
Got to GZ, finding the cache and Sainting it at 1042hrs.
Loaded the next cache in the GPS and got to the river. The rocks looked slippery and it was getting darker. If it rained, the river would rise even more - had not prepared properly for this walk, no coat etc. Discretion became the best part of valour and I turned around and decided not to take the risk of being a weather statistic. Returned to the car to fight another day.
As it turned out, no rain at all in the areas I visited...maybe....no maybes - better to be safe than sorry!
TFTC and cheers
OldSaint.
Fifteen minutes after leaving #19 we found this cache. Again good coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. the cache and its contents were in good condition.
We enjoyed the views along this section of the river - very different to other parts of the Wilmot River valley. Again, thanks Sirius Tas for this great caching experience. More photos have been added to the Gallery.
After finding caches #8 - #15 on Dooleys Heritage Trail we drove to Spellmans Bridge to check out the caches from this end.
The rocks were dry in most places as we ventured along the marked track we managed to travese this section a lot quicker than the above caches. *FTF* @ 16.40 TFTC
