Description
Access can be via the caches along the trail from the north or starting from Spellmans Bridge and heading north along the eastern bank of the Wilmot.
If coming from previous caches to the north the river will need to be crossed and may not be possible in winter flows.
With almost all the caches now placed along the whole trail, a longish day walk can be had starting at either end and utilising a car shuffle.
This section north from Spellmans Bridge involves quite a lot of rock hopping and climbing over some difficult sections.
Please be extremely careful on the rocks if they are wet. If it looks WET and SLIPPERY then iIT IS. A fall here could result in broken limbs.
As a general rule, stay off any flat surfaces if wet and stick to crevices and sharper surfaces.
If caching here alone, PLEASE follow normal bush walking protocols and if possible carry a PLB(personal locator beacon) which has been properly registered with AMSA.
The cache is a small black sistema container with logbook and biro only.
Please take care, but above all, enjoy the walk!

Logs
We then drove down to the end on River Rd off Swamp rd after reading that we could right down to the river level to continue the track from there to the north.
From Spellmans bridge we did a fair amount of rock hoping on very slippery rocks. there was a tree on the track back near #18 TRIMBLETAS got some coordinance for its position for track maintenance purposes.
This one was quickly located with a great hint. TFTC
Easy find after a bit more rock hopping along the rivers edge. tftc
Bit concerning that the last 3 finders names don't seem to be in the log???
Found at 08:35
Nice find in a quite area of the river
From #20 to #19 and the track was pretty wet.
The river had crossed some of the path but I was enjoying the walk.
Had one free loader but he hadn't drawn blood by the time I noticed it.
Arrived at GZ and was again taken by the scenery.
A quick find enabled me to Saint the cache at 1019hrs.
On the way was looking at the water for fish activity and scared one along the way - so I thought! It turned out to be a platypus.
Another great area.
TFTC and cheers
OldSaint.
We were surprised however that Spellmans Bridge was still closed - must have been more than a few trees blown over by the recent massive storm. Before heading off to #19 we took a look up the road on the eastern side of the bridge. The problem was obvious. A significant length of the road, extending to three-quarters of the width of the road, had been washed away. The repairs will probably take months and the bridge will remain closed until repairs are completed. Some photos have been added to the Gallery.
We then headed off down river towards #19. The cement pads that were under water during our previous visit were now high and dry. We estimate that the river is at least a metre lower than before. It was a relatively straightforward walk although we had to be careful getting around some rock outcrops as the rocks were quite slippery in places. The walkway around the side of one large outcrop was most welcome. Once near GZ the hint and accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and its contents were in good condition.
Some additional photos have been added to the Gallery. These show a different character to the river in this section of the valley. Thanks Sirius Tas for bringing us into this part of the Wilmot River Valley and for the cache.
After finding caches #8 - #15 on Dooleys Heritage Trail we drove to Spellmans Bridge to check out the caches from this end.
The rocks were dry in most places as we ventured along the marked track we managed to travese this section a lot quicker than the above caches. *FTF* @ 16.35 TFTC
