Description
Tree Angel is my first entry into this years moveable cache race
My first entry into the weeping angel cache race for Dec 2013 - Jan 2014
This is a hanging cache and is not well camoflaged but it does blend into the background so ideally suited for locations away from prying eyes. (eg. up a tree) I have set the terrain rating to reflect it's preferred hiding style.
www.cachinggames.com/weepingangels/index.phpRules (not guidelines)
- Cache sizes other than micros are encouraged. The log can be in a micro container, but it is encouraged that the angel be regular size or larger.
- Your cache must be a bone fide angel. Any creature can be a Weeping Angel but it must have wings. Planes and spaceships don't count.
- Your cache may be store bought or hand crafted.
- Caches for the competition must be published on 1 December 2013 Australian Eastern Time (GCA Time)
Geocaching Australia has the facility to automatically publish your cache on 1 December 2012
Please refer to the Geocaching Australia wiki for more information - You are welcome to join the game after it has started provided you list the hidden date and published date as 1 December 2013 and add the word weepingangel to your cache tags
- You are required to add the word weepingangel to the tags on your entry at Geocaching Australia
You can add the word weepingangel to your tags by visiting your cache page and clicking on Tag in the Actions section in the right hand navigation section of your cache page - The game commences at 00:00:00 1 December 2013 AEDST and concludes 23:59:59 31 January 2014 AEDST
- The game administrators decision is final
- You can find and move your own cache during the game period provided it is not the caches first move
- Caches must be found and hidden by the same cacher (i.e. no mailing the cache to another cacher to hide)
- There is no limit to the number of times other cachers can find / move the cache provided there are at least two other finds / moves in between
- If a cacher moves your cache overseas and it remains unfound overseas for 1 week or more, the same cacher may move your cache (within the country or to another country) without breaking the "2 moves" rule
- There is no limit to the distance other cachers can move the cache
- Other cachers in the game will find / move your cache, but they are requested to move it on within 2 days
Move far and move often but above all, have fun.

Sincerest apologies for keeping this one so long. I picked it up in Temora in March and just have not got around to placing it. Well, it now sits awaiting some more attention in Wentworth Falls in the Bluies!
Spotted it in the hands of alnic39 at a event at Tizzana at Ebenezer

This cache was one of the caches that has been passed off to one of the following geocachers: alnic39, Just a cacher or Black Bunny. They will move this cache on shortly.
After meeting up with baby&Mrs gopher on the 12/3/21, I was handed a bag of moveable caches. This was one of the many caches I discovered. All caches will be moved on shortly. TFTC's
Found Tree Angel lazing in the moveable cache hotel. We will take it to Temora very soon.
Out with Just a cacher on an afternoon caching run and we decided to grab this one as we passed by.
A quick find here today and we will move this one on shortly.
Thanks for the cache geo_jas

Went out for an after work movable hunt. Picked this one up and brought it home. I have refreshed the number on the front, and put a new log sheet in. The old log sheet is VERY full. Unfortunately, no matter how tightly I rolled, I couldn't get the old one AND the new one back into the tiny bison. If you would like me to return the old one to you, please let me know, before I 'lose' it among the stuff on my desk.

1st up I would like to apologise for keeping the movable for too long, could list many excuses & reasons but I won’t. I did this same long drive to drop off movables in this area 10 months ago & back then I was staring into lockdown with dunny paper like buying a gold bar / nugget & everything else flying of the shelves. 10 + months on I feel we are A lucky country (with some miss steps) – just look at the US & the EU & we are lucky.
So, no QR codes & masks needed today as I stayed away from all – breakfast (hot – toast & toasties & coffee machine) in the bush of the main HWY & rest break stops away from everyone, not even a service station needed - caches were in areas of low people numbers or nil. I set this capability up in lockdown. I look at it like traveling in remote areas you are away from everybody. At the moment I feel it is safer that way.
It was a GOOD long drive today – clocked up 730Km’s & very much enjoyed it with caches / trigs found
Now to the movable location: this is a side road of the main HWY
S34° 52.351' E148° 14.134' to S34° 52.352' E148° 14.137'
Hint – at the back of a pile of wood - covered

Any moveables still listed at the Queanbeyan Mega are currently being rounded up and will be moved on as soon as possible.

Picked up along with quite a few others and they are now all on their way to Bendigo via Echuca over the next couple of days.
Having had a smooth trip on the Spirit of Tasmania, and an equally smooth trip by vehicle northwards, this moveable is now comfortably residing at Shepparton until it is collected to continue its journey
We collected this one last night in Devonport, after a lovely farewell dinner with 2y’stassies
Today she is on board the Spirit of Tasmania to start a new adventure on the mainland
Thanks for the opportunity of moving her
And hopefully another footstep towards my destination

Out and about again in the south of the state. This was a quick find in a location we've visited before to collect moveables, we seem to have collected up a few moveable caches this weekend and will move them towards the north of the state in the next few days. TFTC
Relogged as moved and ready to be found again.
A big thank you to the GCA volunteers for giving up there time to fix a one in a million failure and getting us all caching again.

Journey or Destination
Game Period: 01-Dec-2018 00:00:00 to 31-Jan-2019 23:59:59 AEST
It is sometimes said [citation needed] that the game of geocaching is not about the destination it is about the journey. This game is about the choices you make in the experience of the journey or the destination.
On your entry to the game you will be asked to create a playing field with a number of ground tiles. Your playing field is a grid 20 x 20 ground tiles making a total number of 400 possible steps you can take on your journey or destination. You choose whether you want to find and follow the path or whether you wanted to meander around. A playing field is unique to each player so there is no benefit in teaming up to beat the system through brute force.
For each qualifying geocache that you hide or find during the game period you will be offered the opportunity to click on a ground tile and reveal what lies beneath. There are a number of different ground tiles that will be revealed when you click on your playing field. It should be noted that there are no punishments for clicking a tile but there will not always be the reward you were hoping for as you reveal each tile.
Dirt. The ground beneath the ground tile is just plain old brown dirt.
Dirt with some points. The ground beneath the tile is brown dirt but it has some points associated with it.
Concrete. The ground beneath is part of the pathway that will lead you on your way to your destination but has no point value.
Start. A concrete ground tile that has a blue map marker.
Destination. A ground tile that has a green map marker.
Meandering around and avoiding the path will accumulate points that will be used to place on you the ladder of wanderers. The more you stay off the path the higher the number of points you will accumulate and it will be your journey that will be the determining factor in whether you place into a prize winning position. You are free to select any ground tile to click on; they do not need to be next to each other.
Trying to find the path may mean you strike out on the dirt until you eventually come across the path and as a geocacher who can't say that this isn't a tried and true method. Once you find the path however will you try and follow the path as it changes direction around your playing field? Do you go North, South, East or West to try and find the next concrete tile along the path? If you head one way are you heading towards the start or towards the destination? When you do happen upon the destination tile then you will automatically be in a winning position.
At any point you are free to change from the journey to the destination and vice versa but you won't be able to regenerate your playing field. You are also free to keep playing as long as you have qualifying geocaches, accumulating more and more dirt tile points and placing you higher and higher on the ladder.
Qualifying geocaches fall into two categories. Finds and Hides.
A qualifying find is a geocache that meets the following criteria:
The geocache is listed at Geocaching Australia
The geocache has a hidden date prior to the game commencing
The geocache was logged by you on the Geocaching Australia website during the game period
The geocache was physically found by you during the game period
The geocache is not owned by you unless it is a moveable geocache
The geocache has not previously been found by you during the game period
The geocache is one of the following types:
Burke and Wills
Moveable (you will qualify only once for a find on a moveable geocache)
Traditional
TrigPoint
Augmented Reality
Beacon
Gadget
Multi-cache
Night Cache
Podcache
Reverse
Unknown or Mystery
A qualifying hide is a geocache that meets the following criteria:
The geocache is listed at Geocaching Australia
The geocache has a hidden date after the game has commenced
The geocache was published on the Geocaching Australia website during the game period
The geocache has a container size of regular or larger (Note: A regular geocache has a volume of 1 litre or more)
The geocache is one of the following types:
Moveable
Traditional
Augmented Reality
Beacon
Gadget
Multi-cache
Night Cache
Podcache
Reverse
Unknown or Mystery
The game tracking mechanism relies upon your honesty when logging geocaches as found or hidden.
The games administrators will undertake verification of a statistically significant number of logs.
Players who continually log inaccurate information will be disqualified from the game. The game administrators decision is final.
The game administrators will subtract qualifying hide or find geocaches from your tally if they are found to be not genuine.
The game administrators reserve the right to provide clarifications to the rules at any point during the game.
Don't forget to claim your limited time game trophies, if your qualify, while the game is in progress. Once the game completes the ability to claim your trophies is lost for ever.

Tree Angel is alive and well. Can you please unarchive. I grabbed her yesterday but was logged as Sariel as that was the Angel that should have been there. The previous finder of Sariel didn't realise it was Tree Angel and moved it as Sariel. Sariel was nearby in another stump, so Tree Angel has been there 3 years with no-one knowing as no moved log recorded. All good, I found Sariel as well. Now to rehide. TFTM
