Description

a small cache that is pining for the fjords

You are looking for a small plastic box that is just big enough to contain some laminated cards I have prepared for the cache, a log book, a pencil and a small plastic toy on a key ring.

The box has been painted to help it blend in to it's surroundings.

One of the cards is the stash note, the others are goodies for cachers to swap.

Some of these cards might actually prove useful to a cacher, especially one starting out.

There is also someting inside for the First to Find to take as a trophy.

The cache contains a small pencil for writing in the log book just in case you leave your pen at home. If the pencil goes missing or damaged it might pay to bring your own pen anyway.

Given the area has some blackberries growing, it may pay to take some gardening gloves with you to avoid scratches.

Please take the time to replace the cache so it is out of view once you have logged your find, otherwise it might be too easy to find for those following your hunt.

Also if you move things around in your search, please place them back how you found them to add to the entertainment of others.

At certain times of the day there will be plenty of muggles out for a walk, but the majority of the times you wont be bothered by them. Best to have a handy excuse for acting weird in the bushes just in case.

Looking at the map one could think it is on the side of a busy road, but it is actually out of sight of cars travelling past. If you can see the road clearly whilst searching, you have probably left ground zero.

#GA2538 - 10:25; After driving down to Melbourne to bring the geostudent and her friend back for uni, Sol de lune flew in to join me for a days caching and the return journey to Canberra. Our plan was to make finds in as many of the dragonZones in which we were yet to make a find as we could. Today the plan was to head south to Kingston, then on to Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula before heading back north to Monash and a few other zones before wrapping up the day in Stonnington. After a DNF at our last stop, it took two loops to get into the right parking spot for an assault on this one. Sdl had found it on a previous visit, so I was solo. In fact Sdl was the last finder in January last year! Fashioned a tool to get the dead blackberry vines out of the way and access the cache. Nice to find things all in order after a long break between visits. TFTC the Monkey King Very HappyClan Cerberus

Took two trips around the GZ area before the cache was spotted. Then the careful extraction and all was good.

Thanks again Monkey King. Yep, that's a big stump.....

A quick find - cache and contents are in good addition. TFTF

Loved the great old stump. So much character even with the parasitic blackberry. Mrs Y'stassie had to call on the taller team member to retrieve this on..
Cache and contents were in excellent condition. Thanks for the cache and another enjoyable caching experience The Monkey King.

This one was a little tricky to find today. Luckily I was the one doing the searching as I'm pretty sure my companions today would never have been able to spot it. A wonderul old tree (with a few blackberries around to keep you on your toes) with loads of character to find a cache.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks the Monkey King for this cache here today. It was the last one before we had to head off to lunch and was a worthy find.

Last of the cluster of three nearby GCA traditionals, and the last cache for me today. I parked in the side street nearby and walked to GZ - which is unmistakable - and after a quick look around I spotted a glimpse of it and mananged to extract and replace it without too many scratches. Nice quirky one, thanks

Thanks for the comments and congrats on the FTF - I have still yet to get my FTF.

I found the location during one of my daily walks, and upon seeing the area I actually prepared the hide over a few visits to make it what I wanted.

I was surprised that no muggles came along when I was doing the work, as I would have had an interesting time explaining what I was doing, given the items I had with me.

Very Happy Normally Awaiting to Find lists have caches way to far away. This one was relatively close. As such we had been looking at the awaiting to find list for several weeks and as it was mid break decided to have a go. Never had a FTF before, so it was to be the next challenge, but expecting someone else to have found it but not logged yet. What a suprise, an empty log book and the FTF token still intact, WOW! Normally I go caching either cycling or we go walking the geodog. We opted to take the geodog with us and was pleasantly suprised to find paths to several caches in the area. (It was geodogs first outing after an operation and rough terrain would have been out of the question). The search took ages though. Had to reread the clues 4 or 5 times until the penny finally dropped. Well done. What a great spot - how on earth did you find it? Clapping
