Description

a small cache that is near a round about

You are searching for a small plastic container that has been hidden in a somewhat dense patch of nature. The box has been painted to take the shine off to make it a bit more fun to search for.

Please be careful searching for this cache, as the ground is uneven, has rabbit holes and even the remains of some car bodies. If the area is wet it can also be a bit slippery.

Inside are the log book, stash note, some laminated cards for cachers to swap goodies with, a plastic toy (sorry I couldn't fit the toy dinosaur in to the box) and a pencil.

The pencil is back up incase you leave your pen at home or it is raining at the time you sign the log - you can alway write in pencil when it is wet.

There is also a trophy for the First to Find.

Please note - do not go to the round about to start your search. The cache is not there. In fact, it is well off the road, so you wont be in any danger of being seen by a car.

When starting your search it is good to know that the path of least resistance is probably the one that offers the most resistance to get to ground zero.

I recommend those getting to the area by car check out the site on google maps - there is a tiny branch of Browns road near ground zero you can get into and park, but you may need to reverse out as it is not a proper road as one might think.

#GA2539 - 10:30; After driving down to Melbourne to bring the geostudent and her friend back for uni, Sol de lune flew in to join me for a days caching and the return journey to Canberra. Our plan was to make finds in as many of the dragonZones in which we were yet to make a find as we could. Today the plan was to head south to Kingston, then on to Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula before heading back north to Monash and a few other zones before wrapping up the day in Stonnington. Another which Sdl had found before, but he did show me the easier way in. Once at GZ, the cache was quickly found and log signed. TFTC the Monkey King Very HappyClan Cerberus

No bush bashing needed. Cache was out in the open so covered it up a little more. A go d for the state's of the nation game

Another find during my caching day out and about in this part of Melbourne. Took a couple of minutes to find the way in, but once at GZ, the cache was soon in hand and the log signed.

Thanks The Monkey King.

After the previous DNF we were considering ignoring this cache but decided it might still be there so in we went. After almost 20 minutes searching we were about to give up when the short one, who had been searching under low branches very close to where our GPS indicated GZ should be turned round and almost trod on the cache container. It is nolonger under low branches as these appear to have died and broken off leaving the cache in the open but covered with a deep layer of pine needles and leaf and bark.
Thanks The monkey King we really enjoyed the hunt for this cache and the satisfaction of finding it still safe and dry.

This one was too tough for GabGab, Mrs. caughtatwork and I today. Lots of stuff to look through and with the GPS always pointing at the same location, we just couldn't see the cache for the trees. That's a pity and GCA caches are rare and I do love to find them.

It took me a while to locate this cache as GPS reception under the trees is also dodgy. I eventually discovered it almost at my feet! TFTC

You may have guessed that we had looked for this one the other day (27th). Then the sun was low, plastic trash lying about, lots of 'hidy holes' and moving gps all conspired to completely fooled us. Today we were out for a bike ride and meeting folk at Hastings for a ride to Balnarring. As we were running early and had to go through the roundabout, I could not help myself. I swung a left at the roundabout and parked the car. What a difference the sun position makes! Doubt you would find it on a night run. Had a good day, found one I had not been able to 'decode' in 4 visits and another FTF (now we have one each), woho! Never thought we could get one, let alone two. I'm sure that streak has well and truely come to an end. But a buzz nevertheless. TFTC Very Happy
