Lots of photos to choose from my visit to my brother in Denver, Colorado. This one is a favourite - finding a cache (Thirteen Nine GC2CM5F) with my brother's kids at the top of one of Colordado's 14ers - Mt Evans at 4315m. Need to watch for altitude sickness at this height. TFTC

Sorry no GPSr in photo as now use smartphone.
We made the teek to Bluff Knoll in the South West of WA back in March 2016. Bluff Knoll is 1099 metres above sea level and we also held an event while up there. It was a wet, windy miserable day so unfortunately we didnt get much of a view.
I went pretty well to the top of Mt Buffalo on Saturday last, but didn't take any photos of my GPS to show it.
Then I though "Wasn't there an altitude on one of the signs around the Chalet?" Checked the photos and "Yes!" And with over 300 metres to spare!

MOUNT MACEDON
MOUNT MACEDON, VICTORIA
I believe the mount at Mt Macedon is just on or a couple of metres above 1000 metres in elevation. I came here when I was a 10 year old, and came back to revisit/relive some memories. I don't really remember the actual visit here, but I am sure it has changed dramatically in a couple of decades. Such a beautiful area around the cross. The visit was good as I was able to add some information to a memory. Logged as part of the Scavenger Hunt Series.

Went to grab my GPSr and realised I'd left it on the computer still. Duh! Ah well, I took this shot with lots of feet instead. That's 1397m and my 2 feet.
I don't have a GPS so I hope this is okay. In September 2015 we were in France and Italy and I noticed going up the mountains there were markers indicating the altitude. I use my phone to geocache so I could not get that in the photo . I took a photo of the 1000m altitude sign
Made it to Kosciuszko Tops (GCNEFX) and still had enough brain power left to remember take a screen shot on the phone to prove the elevation. Hills and I don't usually agree so I probably won't have many more opportunities to get decent elevations, so I'm glad I've got at least one.
#GA439 - 12:30; It has been more than 30 years since my closest previous encounter with the summit of Australia's tallest mountain. On that occasion, I made it to Charlotte's Pass with the geohoney, but the mission was aborted due to approaching inclement weather. The climb has been on the bucket list ever since!
In more recent times, discussion of the climb has extended to my geobuddies and after one of them took on the planning, the day had finally arrived. I collected Albida33, Sol de lune and Agent Basil and we headed for the hills just after 7:00 am. We picked up a couple of caches on the way, before meeting up with MrDamage and lokipagan at Jindabyne for coffee, then heading on to Thredbo for the final assault.
Up, up, up in the chairlift we went, before heading off along a track which was proving to be quite popular with Canberrans and a few Victorians who had the day off for public holidays, while the folks from NSW had to work.
The headwind was quite strong on the outward journey and I had a bit of sympathy for some of the walkers returning back past us armed with walking poles which were not suited to the metal walking path. Persistence paid off and we reached the summit a tick under two hours from the top of the chairlift.
After collecting the GC traditional and information for the EarthCache, it was time for some photos to mark the occasion, including the one to qualify for this cache. TFTC Ryan00

This view is from the top of Mt William in the Grampians in Victoria with an elevation of 1167m. This panorama photo was taken atop the cairn on the summit, carefully rotating from south to north. The air navigation beacon is prominent in the foreground.
Thankyou for featuring locations above 1000 metres Ryan00!

We were geocaching in this area and I was experimenting with my new Dakota 10 when I realised that all the time we were above 1000 metres in altitude.
Somehow, I had forgotten that this whole area is above 1km.
I normally live at 960 metres in Leura.

Well it's not really readable on the GPS but 1855m is what it was reading. This was at the trig point on Mt Gingera in Namadgi National Park
After finding what became Porters trig I then went on a bushwalk up a steep hill to find the rock cairn of Dennes TP7026, at an altitude of 1348 m, which is some 90 km NW (ATCF) of home, but a 4 hour drive!
Found this one at 2110. About 6º, so cool, but not COLD>

This was a successful FTF attempt for the trig TP1033, previously called "Great Dividing Range Area", subsequently changed to Porters, I measured 1448 m by barometer, 1454 m by satellites, tho the cache page states 1450 m. Found @ 2030 - and that was before Daylight Saving!

I was on my way back from placing my cache GC4524J http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC4524J_marrangaroo-creek-vue-59 when I remembered this locationless. I was at the highest point on the track at an altitude of 1.148km.

Following a funeral today a bit further south , I decided to do a few trig points in this area. On the way to the Mount St Leonard one, I stopped to do a few GC caches along the way and realised that at Repunzel (GC4374Z), I was right on 1000 metres.
I took the pickie at 15:30ish to post for this cache but just in case there's an EPE error, I also took another one at the trig point itself which was well and truly above the 1000 metre mark.
Many thanks Ryan00.

On Australia Day 2014, I found the caches (both the traditional and earthcache) at the top of Mount Kosciusko, which is 2228m. It was a great day on our national day, as there was a sausage sizzle nearby to celebrate.

Narrow Neck
Katoomba, NSW
Found quite a number of places above 1000 metres along the fire trail, after the locked gate. This is a beautiful part of the Blue Mountains.
Was on the way to log the Castle Cliff (Old) Trig.
For fun, I picked a spot where the elevation was exactly 1000 metres, but the terrain around that location varied from 980 to 1020 metres.

Belmont, in the high desert country in Nevada, USA.
The cache is (named) 2349-ET (The Church), along the ET Highway trail...and only 51 from the end.
The height is at 2279 metres, so about 50 metres higher than Mt Kosciuszko. In summer, as it was, it was great day.
Thanks for the locationless....

Hi Ryan00
This morning I did the cache GCPYM6 "Jurassic Park"
While waiting for GoldJ to arrive I looked at my GPS and found I was at 1103m standing at the car park of the Big Bend on Mt Wellington.
Enjoyed the walk to the cache and back even though there was a lot of mountain goating for an old fella like me.
TFTC and cheers

When this locationless was published, we thought of a number of locations that we could visit to meet the 1km+ requirement. Then Monty&Tylo published their cache "GC50CD2 Great Western Tiers" and we decided to wait until we visited that cache. The visit was made to day. The photo added to the Gallery is a composite showing one of us near GZ for the cache and a close view of our GPS showing the elevation as 1114m. Thanks Ryan00 for an interesting locationless.
The photos show mr sharnie's tribe at the Great Dividing Range sign showing the elevation and the GPS'r with the actual height we recorded at that location. This was on the way from Katoomba to the Jenolan Caves, a magnificent place to visit if you ever get the opportunity. TFTL
Mt Mowbullan is on the southern side of the spur that runs across the top of the Bunya Mountains. This sign is at 1107M. I hope this will be allowed. TFTC
Rated: for Overall Experience
I hope the Co will allow this one as you can not read the screen on the GPSr.There is a main road, the Bunya Highway that links Kingaroy and Dalby and other places or there is the road that goes up and over the Great Dividing range along the spur known as the Bunya Mountains. Up at the top there is mainly State forest and protected land but there is also private land. Also on top of the Bunya Mountains there is located six Towers. Four are television relay towers and the other two belong to telstra. This Height sign is on the highest point Driving from the north and the only views you get are of the road and trees.

I'll start with the Mt.Arthur summit. 1,188 metres above sea level. Climbed December of 2012, it was lots of fun!
