Description
Find a VW Beetle
The Volkswagon Beetle - a two-door, four passenger, rear-engined economy car manufactured and marketed by German automaker Volkswagon (VW) from 1938 until 2003. Years ago our family owned one and we drove up to the Territory from South Australia in it in early 1967.
Take a photo of a Volkswagon Beetle with the co ords of where it was spotted and any info you may know about it. Happy Love Bug hunting!

I saw this Punch Buggy on the Brooker Highway, Hobart. It is fully registered and obviously still in regular use by its proud owner.

I was walking to get the photo for another cache when I saw this old VW Beetle parked. I knew there had to be a cache for this so I took the required photo and co-ordinates just in case. Sure enough here it is. The photo does not do this vehicle justice. It appears that it is still the original paint work and requires more that a cut and polish to get it in good condition. Still it must be someone's pride and joy. In my younger days I knew these as "Pregnant Pasties" in accordance with their shape.

Was passing through Exeter in Tasmania today when my grandson who was with me asked if I saw 'that funny car'???
So we turned around and went back and what do you know? It was a Volkswagon beetle!!
Somewhere in the depths of my memory I remembered that there was a locationless cache about VW beetles so we stopped and took the required photo.
This one was outside the Bee Hive Honey shop and is painted with black and yellow stripes. Needless to say it is ornamental and probably doesn't even have a motor any more.
This beetle can be found at S41 17.894 E146 57.058
Thanks.

Found this one at the Symonston CORS site. Covered in grass but a bug none the less.
I thought I'd have a shoe in for this one as we were visiting some friends that had one. Unfortunately theirs had been written off by their insurer after a dingle as repair costs were too high.
However, I was at the Ellenbrook shops this morning and parked right across from this sunny chap, so snapped a quick photo.

Spotted this love bug at a street procession in Eden NSW, as part of the whale festival. This bug is the same colour love bug that I had as my first car. Thanks for the memory. TFTC

Found this double whammy VW beetles in Coober Pedy
A fantastic advertising gimmick, and a great way to recycle machhines that at least managed to get as far as Coober Pedy, even if that was their last stop at least now they can rest out their days being useful promotions, and a great interest for shutterbugs.
Hoping nobody else has submitted these.

On our way home from George Town when we spotted this Beetle at the front of the The Bee Hive, a centre for Tasmanian honey in Exeter. He's been painted up in bumblebee colours, poor little guy, but very cute. TFTC
Ah, Herbie, VW Bug / Beetle, not as common a sight as they used to be, well the older ones anyway. There are at least three in my area that I know of, and all coloured something of the white tone. I so dislike it when you suddenly receive a thumping followed by the output of "Punch Buggy" from the children. Anyway, we happen to have a yellow bug, and a black one.

Found this little beauty parked outside the Riverside Swimming Pool. One of the more recent models (2000s?), and it obviously goes fast because it is red.
A day trip to Silverton whilst we were staying at nearby Broken Hill. We came across a few VW Beetles. This one was a pale cream colour and a local artist had emus painted on it.
My first car was a pale green vw.

This pretty love bug is parked near a Cherry Orchard on the corner of Huon Highway and Longley’s Road near Huonville Tas. We owned three Volkswagon Beetles and one Volkswagon station sedan (yes they did make them) during the 1960's - TFTL and for the trip down memory lane.

Spotted this bright one while spotting another locationless. I saw it coming from a distance and made out like I was taking a photo of the historic house from a cross the road.
Spotted this while on holidays in Brissy recently ... this one is well looked after

This is my geo-bug! It's a refurbished 1971 S model. We love to go caching together although we really only visit caches in the ACT and nearby surrounds. The beetle is also my avatar too. If you see us, you'll find a travel bug too (TB4CGFM).
This is taken at my other home, our Scout Hall in Watson ACT.
I just had to log this locationless! Thanks Doodle Bug Oz.

#GA303 - 12:15; I was out and about in Bridport checking out the crowds in town for a triathlon and decided to grab a few photos for some locationless caches and noticed this bug parked beside the street after finding the Richard Street Trig just up the street. Stopped for a quick photograph on the way back past. TFTC Doodle Bug Oz

It's been a while since I saw a real (original not modernised that is) VW Beetle in the flesh - err., steel... (Kombis, ja! Käfer, nein...) So when I discovered this travelbug at an event today I thought I would try my luck for a find on this locationless GCA cache...
I attended GJMMelb's "Cup Day - 50++ reasons to cache!!" event today (how could I not?! - G is one of our team of "Three Cache-keteers"!!) and came across this groovy little VW travelbug - not quite a Baja-bug, I'm not sure what you'd call this form of modified Beetle - besides blasphemous?!? )
Once upon a time, I considered getting a VW "Superbeetle" as an everyday classic drive. I didn't and hmm... perhaps that was a good thing? The jury is still out on that one... Airbags, etc vs 40+ year old Metallarbeiten, etc...

I spotted this immaculate VW in Werribee South Vic.
I love the white wall tyres.
They really highlight the car.
With custom car plates the woner obviously takes it out on the road only for special drives.
Nice one.

Early in the afternoon we were driving southwards along Bathurst Street in Launceston when we saw an old VW Beetle (with a very distinctive number plate) heading northwards. As there wasn’t an opportunity to turn around and pursue, we resigned ourselves to the fact that we had missed out on that one. Late in the afternoon we were at Longford (about 20km south of Launceston) when we saw another VW Beetle in a supermarket car park – at least this one would not get away. As we drove into the car park there was something familiar – the same distinctive number plate. It was really our day. A composite of two photos have been added to the Gallery.
Spotted this modern love bug in Cooma on the way back from the coast.
Even has it's other "name" on the side.
Thanks for the locationless.

Hi Doodle Bug Oz
This 'Love Bug' is garaged permanently next door to where my Mum lives in Huonville.
In fact; it is owned by the people who introduced me to caching.
In top condition, but a little noisy as it has a different exhaust system to most.
TFTC and cheers
