I’ve been randomly looking at the gallery in search for interesting Locationless caches. So far I have a to-do list of nearly 150! When I saw this one I instantly knew what images to use. For an unknown reason I decided to take selfies of myself hugging statues of circus animals. I don’t think I have ever shown these to anyone haha. I was in Belarus exploring Minsk when I stumbled onto the Belarusian State Circus building. It was the USSR’s first permanent stone circus which was built after the Revolution of 1917. A beautiful structure. I had a wonderful unforgettable time in Belarus. Thanks for triggering great memories and thanks for the cache

DD was very taken with this guy and wanted to take it home! However, T wouldn't come to the party - apparently it wouldn't have fitted in our suitcase even if we could have come up with the dollars required. We found this guy at the end (or maybe from some points of view the beginning) of a sculpture trail. We hadn't walked any of these sculpture trails before, but enjoyed it so much that we are sure we will return some time, hopefully to hug more wildlife. Some of the sculptures around him seemed to have suffered a bit due to unusually high tides. Unfortunately, if you haven't already had a hug, you probably won't get one as this was an ephemeral sculpture.
I spotted these cool birds while walking to breakfast this morning and couldn't resist giving them a squeeze. TFTC
Having a walk around Werrington Lake and doing a cache nearby. I spotted this lizard on a stone block. On closer inspection I saw it was a metal one so couldnt resist getting "up close and personal" with it. TFTC

Miss Shifter loved this Koala when she was young and we took several photos over the years as she grew up, unfortunately the koala was gone the last time we were there.
Team Kyzabra up close and personal with a statue in Fremantle.
Found in. Canberra, I call this shot 3 galahs!
And yes, there is a cache nearby.
Oddly enough it's called Galah Galah GC4DAFZ
A lovely area of Canberra to sightsee in, and find the odd cache there as well.

You know you have a good thing going when you realize that you (and by you, I mean my dad) own a dinosaur statue and it sits in your backyard. This stegosaurus is now my new best friend.
This one is located on the Bunya Highway outside the Wondai timber getters Museum which is also the local Visitors Information Centre. Wondai is north of Kingaroy and South of Murgon in the South Burnett region of Queensland.

Wondai Qld is located in the South Burnett Region. Charlotte was a female Emu that claimed the town as its own and used to visit most of the neighbourhood yards. Residents used to feed her and she was not afraid of people. Unhappily one night a visior to town did not see Charlotte and hit her with their car and killed it. The community started a fund raiser programme and was able to gather enough funds to immoprtalise her in Bronze and her statue sits pride of place in a park in the centre of town. TFTL DOODLE BUG OZ

Hi Doodle
My "Up Close and Personal" is with the "White Horse" Whisky mascot taken at the Huonville Ex-Servicemen's Club of which I am a member.
Never thought I'd be strong enough to hold a horse in my right hand while I took a selfy of it with my left! Had had a few bourbons by then so I guess that's where I got the extra strength from!
Had been to the Joker Jackpot Draw - turns out I was the only JOKER there - didn't win by the way - maybe next week.
TFTC, the fun of taking the picture in front of everyone and getting the hell ribbed out of me for doing so
Cheers OldSaint.

It's October 2014, geowife wants to play bridge in Bowral. We are there way too early and even after a nice lunch it was way too early. So, off we went to do a cache called Megafauna. It's a multi which brings you through this part where one of the waypoints is at a statue of some huge wombats. It's a highly recommended one!
Photo is with HanorahTLG who wanted to stay here for the night to sleep with them.

The small town of Penguin on the North West Coast of Tasmania has an iconic sculpture, known locally as the “Big Penguin”. The fibro cement construction was erected in October 1975 to celebration the centenary of the proclamation of the township of Penguin. Approaching Christmas time each year, the “Big Penguin” is appropriately dressed as Santa Penguin. The photo added to the Gallery shows Mrs Y’stassie getting “close and personal” with the “Big Penguin”. Thanks for the cache Doodle Bug Oz
This is a super size piece at the entrance to the Canberra Airport terminal called Perception and Reality by Andrew Rogers. She is 7.5m tall, weighs 3.8 tons and she's very spectacular.
I've been wanting to get up and close to her for a while now, and now that I've realised there is this excellent Locationless cache, I had the chance!
Thanks Doodle Bug Oz
Cheers

Hugging "Joe" the Husky.
Tasmanian Louis Bernacchi (1876-1942) was the first Australian to winter in Antarctica. Louis grew up on Maria Island, attended Hobart's Hutchins school, and from his early years was a strong advocate for Australia's involvement with Antarctica.
A scientist, photographer and writer, Louis left Hobart with the Borchgrevink Antarctic expedition on 17 December 1898. Their vessel, the "Southern Cross", departed from the point where this tribute stands. Louis later joined Scott's 1901-1904 "Discovery" expedition as Chief Scientist, taking his favourite husky "Joe", who had been with him on Borchgrevink's earlier expedition.

On a recent holiday to Norway we found this big fellow dusted in snow in a park in Bodo. Of course Mrs Wagtail gave him a hug.

Got up close and personal with this monster on a trip to China a while back. He was at FengDu on the banks of the Yangtze River and I am not sure just what is going on here. Very personal.
Recommend the trip down the Yellow river if you get a chance.

mr sharnie's tribe leaning on a whale, a bit too casual to actually give it a cuddle! Spotted this chainsaw sculpture at George Town on a caching run to north east Tassie. Loved it. TFTL
The Bogong Moth (Agrotis Infusa - yep, had to look that up) is described in Wikipedia as:
...A temperate species of night-flying moth, notable for appearing in large numbers around major public buildings in Canberra, the capital city of Australia, during spring as it migrates to the Bogong High Plains....
As a result, the ACT government commissioned a statue that has become known simply as....The Bogong Moth...
Attached are a couple of photo's of the oversize moth to give you a size perspective....and also myself getting up close and personal with it.
Thanks for another locationless Doodle Bug OZ.....and I hope you like our giant moth.

Having a cuddle with a big barramundi funded by an Artist in Schools Grant-this took a couple of years to comlete but the wait was well worthwhile with a very colorful fish to admire. Good idea for a locationless Doodle Bug Oz. I look forward to a lot more cuddling.
