Clubs of Australia....

From Leagues Clubs in NSW, QLD & the ACT....to Aussie Rules Clubs in Victoria, WA, SA & Tassie....Boat and Fishing Clubs in the NT.....and of course, all the Lawn Bowling clubs around the country.......there is always a place to find a meal and/or a drink across our country.

To claim this locationless, simply grab a photo of yourself, or your GPS, outside a club and include the co-ords.     ENSURE the name of the club is visual in your photo...and if you're a member and you want to give your club a plug......tell us why you are a member.

Who knows, next time you're in Shepparton, Bicheno, Murray Bridge, Collie, Alice Springs, Ayr, Lismore or Tuggeranong......you might be looking for somewhere to eat or have a drink.

This one is all clubbed out....so time to go.

15-Jan-18
Corinda Bowls Club, Hall Ave, Corinda, Brisbane. This club is pretty active although I'm not a member here. The pleasant Nosworthy Park is next door.
Thank you Sol de Lune

11-Jan-17
Ascot Kayak Club, Fauntleroy Ave, Ascot WA

11-Jan-17
Blue Gum Tennis Club in Brentwood, WA. Played Squash here a few times and love the lake.

11-Jan-17
The Chatswood RSL club. Never actually stepped foot in the place even though I pass it often. My club is the Asquith Leagues where GCNSW hold our monthly meetings Wink

10-Jan-17
Canberra Raiders Sports Club, Hibberson Street, Gungahlin, ACT. Also a favorite watering hole, but currently undergoing major extensions. TFTC Sol de lune Very HappyClan Cerberus

10-Jan-17
The Lithgow Workmens Club in of course Lithgow. Can't say I have ever been inside and I am not a member.

09-Jan-17
GrimRaider and I headed to Nelson Bay for the weekend for some sun and to catch up with family. We stayed across the road and enjoyed a meal or two at the Soldiers Point Bowling Club. This area is so busy at this time of year, but service was still good here. TFTC

08-Jan-17
Nepean Rowing club
I visit this club weekly for Line dancing classes and socials

07-Jan-17
Just as we were going to have a swim in the sea, I spotted the Koombana Bay Sailing Club, and remembered this cache

05-Jan-17
Spotted the Hill City University Athletics club while I was on my morning walk. Dunedin definitely deserves the moniker "Hill City", but this club is on reclaimed land on the flat.

Thanks for the locationless Sol De Lune

05-Jan-17
Greensborough Model Aircraft Club - I found this club while I was out geocaching nearby in Yarrambat. It was founded in 1968 by a group of people interested in building and flying model aircrafts.

04-Jan-17
Out and about looking for scavenges and came across the Kingston Beach Golf Club. They offer meals here at the club on Friday nights. Using this locationless for the Summer Scavenger Series games. TFTL

04-Jan-17
Marmion Angling Club, a very popular drinking hole, not so much angling going on these days.

03-Jan-17
Out and about for the Summer Scavenger Series 2016/17 and snapped our local Bowls Club - The Trevallyn Bowls Club.

02-Jan-17
The Irish club in Mount Isa. I had lunch there twice during my Christmas holiday and had to help WillPunkey with his nachos. They have a large Pokie area and a tram carrage in the middle of the restaraunt. There is a Gym downstairs and it is strange when people walk through the middle of the restrant in sweaty gym clothes

02-Jan-17
The Oakleigh - Caulfield District Angling Club

This is around the corner from one of my caches, so I walk past here a lot.
I'm not sure why an angling club is in the middle of suburbia, but there you have it.

Using as a claim for the Summer Scavenger Series.

Thanks for the locationless Sol De Lune

02-Jan-17
The Patterson River Motor Boat Club in Carrum, Vic. I can't say that I know a huge amount about it other than the premises are a long-standing feature on the sea-shore. I suspect the building itself has seen better days. The web-cam seen advertised in one of the photos has for a long time served as the basis for a Web Cam Cache. [Note: My camera IS my GPS]

02-Jan-17
Kingaroy Qld is located in the South Burnett Region of Queenland approx 3 hour drive North West from Brisbane. The club has excellent facilities and is allways neat and clean.

What used to be the Woolgoolga Bowling Club has now been taken over by the Coffs Harbour Ex Services Club, which has rebranded itself as c.ex - pronounced as you might imagine. It's a bit different being in a place with various sex club branches around the place. Years ago this used to be good for a feed, then went downhill, and I haven't tried them since the takeover. Seen while staying up here at my parents' place while dad is in hospital. Thanks Sol de lune, another one for the summer scavenge hunt.

01-Jan-17
Nepean Rowing Club. My dad used to come here for work and after work functions. We were all here in November during a charity car rally.

01-Jan-17
Nepean River Power Boat and Ski Club. Found it on a walk along the river this morning

01-Jan-17
A club near home, the Magpies Sports Club.

Thanks Sol de lune

01-Jan-17
The old West Belconnen leagues Club which is now part of the Raiders franchise.

31-Dec-16
This is the Morphett Vale Football & Sports Club, home of the 'Emus' football club. It is located in the Adelaide suburb of, you guessed it, Morphett Vale.

We've never been here for a feed, so can't really offer any advice on that part of the club. During footy season, the games here are always well attended by spectators, so I suppose the club has a good membership level.

More can be read about this club here --> http://bit.ly/2hVFChs
It's worth looking at just to see the real emus having a swim at the beach!

Thanks Sol de lune.

31-Dec-16
This is Cazaleys Sports Club at Palmerston. It is a big supporter of activities in the local area particularly sports teams. The bistro is good and they have live music on a Friday night although we usually seem to miss the bands. The carpark was very busy in the build up to New Years Eve and people were looking at me strangely so apologies for not including the GPS in the photo. Logged as part of the summer scavenger series. Thanks Sol De Lune.

31-Dec-16
Seven Hills Toongabbie RSL

great food, one of those all you can eat buffets (if you prefer that), live music. Only down side it that the car park is a nightmare (better to park on the street). Or get the train!

31-Dec-16
The East Ulverstone Football Club is a very active group in the school community. The EUFC plays in the North West Football Association which includes teams from Ulverstone in the west to Wesley Vale in the east and to Sheffield in the south. The photo added to the Gallery contains two images: an image of the EUFC clubrooms; and the name of the club on the side of the building. Thanks Sol de Lune for the cache.

31-Dec-16
MOSS VALE SERVICES CLUB
ARGYLE STREET
MOSS VALE, NSW

The last few days I have passed many clubs of various kinds.

31-Dec-16
This is Springwood Sports Club. It used to be just a bowling club, but it merged with the Springwood and District Club when that closed down. I was a member here for a while when I was on the committee for the local Little A's.

30-Dec-16
Cessnock Ex-Services Club is in the main street, not hard to find!

30-Dec-16
Montmorency Bowling Club, VIC

This club is situated close to the Montmorency R.S.L. where I have sometimes had a meal.

29-Dec-16
Found this cache with the family whilst on a holiday in Tasmania.
To be honest it was either this club (Huonville bowls club) or the men's strip club near our house.

29-Dec-16
After noticing all of the new scavenges for the Summer Scavenger Series we were in Richmond and drove past the Richmond Golf Club to grab a quick photo. The Richmond Golf Club is part of the Richmond Club in Richmond (NSW) which we are members as we attend the Hawkesbury Camera Club most weeks of the year.

29-Dec-16
Huon ex Servicemen's and Women's Club.
On the way to the Tahune Airwalk we dropped through this town where we found this club. This was done while we were on holidays in Hobart so I have no ideas what goes on inside.
Thanks for this cache which I am using for the Summer Scavenger Series.

I was heading home from the gym this morning with Seeka and a moveable Santa in tow and spotted the Italian Australian Club in Morwell. I chuckled as, yet again, I was asked yesterday "Are you Italian?" by a patient though normally most of them accept a 'no, sorry', this fellow tried to make me watch the Italian news with him, insisting that I surely must understand it. Really mate, not Italian. Italian's don't have the monopoly on dark eyes and hair. Either way, a happy snap was had, no meal today, and I was on my way. TFTC Sol de Lune Clan Phoenix

While out and about picked up this for the Summer Scavenger Series
Windsor RSL located in South Windsor

29-Dec-16
The Bellevue RSL Club. We often park here to start our mountain bike rides on the heritage trail.

Thanks for the locationless cache Sol de lune!

27-Aug-16
Found this lovely sports club while out geocaching in the Ascot Vale area - Riverside Tennis & Golf Club. It had 12 tennis courts , nine hole golf course and a cafe and function room with breakfast, lunch & dinner available.

01-Aug-16
Nanango Darts Club. They open for club members on Friday nights as well as the days and nights they actually play competiiton Darts.
The usual venues for this sport are hotels but this is a club houe for this activity. They have actually held state championships here. The building used to be part of the Nanango Butter factory but that closed many many years ago. The club house is available for rent for meetings, parties and other activities. Asquith Leagues is my local, though it seems to be undergoing a rebranding to Magpies Waitara, which probably makes more sense as Asquith is 2 suburbs away. It's only a block and a half from home and has recently completed an internal refurbishment. Even more importantly we use it to host the Geocaching NSW monthly committee meeting with some of us having a meal there first, so if you are around the first Monday of the month about 7pm call in for a feed and say hi!

25-Mar-16
Found the Laurieton Bowling whilst there Laughing

20-Mar-16
Saw this club as we were camping near by at Gloucester CP Laughing

18-Mar-16
Staying at the Bowling Club at Dungog

The Melbourne Club is a private club that has existed in Melbourne since 1838.

The club is situated at 36 Collins Street, Melbourne.

Former members include politicians and business magnates.

No I'm not a member and doubt I will ever be.

TFTL Very Happy

01-Sep-15
Nanango Bowls club located on Henry Street Nanango which is part of the D'Aigular Highway. It is only a small club but it is holding its head above water at the moment and Bowls are played several days per week including weekends. I am not a member but have been a member of other bowls clubs. It has two greens. Very Happy

Club Dubbo - the sign is a big blue neon one. You can't miss it - even from the other side of town almost.

Inspired by GA7102, Locationless by 12, I decided to try for 12 in 12...minutes. I dragged Gangstella along to do the camera work and navigate so I could drive safely... and our two dogs. Instead of logging a photo here, I have a video link instead. It is shaky, blurry, over and underexposed, but it does the job...just.

http://youtu.be/M0dNB7EwKQk

As you will see we had fun finding them all and the dogs loved the end of it all.
Thanks Smile

#GA469 - 17:25; Bridport Ex-Services and Community Club, Main Street, Bridport, Tasmania

I've been known to frequent the Bridport Club when visiting the geoparents in Tasmania. Decided it would make a great addition to the Clubs logged for this cache. I've always though the Tasmanian Tiger on the roof looked awkward (not sure what it is doing?). TFTC Sol de lune DancingClan Cerberus

Dapto leagues club is closest to my workplace and the club I have visited least in the area! As my wife works for one of the biggest clubs in the Illawarra, this would be considered competition and a no go.

Emigrating from Victoria in 1992, ACT Aussie Rules football club Ainslie was known to me (even from Victoria) and was therefore the first club I joined when I moved here. I have maintained my membership since then.
Now my two sons are playing for the "tri-colours" and I even coached here for U7's and U8's. Now they have both played for the so famous U13's side that featured both James Hird and Nathan Buckley in the same year.
There's a strong AFL history in Canberra and Ainslie is a key part of that, being established in 1927 along with Eastlake, I suspect Queanbeyan was already hammering them even in 1927 Exclamation .
I'd have to say that nothing is more enjoyable than going down to the oval on a Saturday arvo and watching the boys play and listening to the blood curdling address from the coach out on the ground at quarter or three quarter time. This is Heartland Footy (plug for locationless GA7113) Exclamation
Thanks for the opportunity to show off my club Sol De Lune. Go Ainslie!
Cheers

The Ulverstone Cricket Club is where our two sons and Mr y’stassie spent much time in the summer months using the practice nets and where the elder of the two boys played cricket before heading off to University. The Ulverstone Cricket Club has a proud history, including being the location where Australian medium-fast bowler Ben Hilfenhaus began his cricket career. The composite photo added to the Gallery contains three images: Mrs y’stassie standing next to the Ulverstone Cricket Club sign which proudly proclaims the “home of Ben Hilfenhaus”; the clubrooms from the eastern side of the ground; and activity on the ground.

Our little town doesn't have a lot of facilities in comparison to some towns but during the summer months many enjoyable afternoons are spent on the green here.

Katoomba RSL Club
Lurline Street
Katoomba, NSW

I drive past this club frequently when in Katoomba, and have occasionally attended events here.

Darwin Game Fishing Club - their new home is at the Trailer Boat club and they meet first Tuesday of the month at 7pm. Thanks Sol de lune for this locationless.

22-Nov-14
Darwin Rock Sitters Club established in 1974, still sitting every Saturday East Point Reserve Darwin 6pm onwards. Rock sitting evolved from great Darwin tradition of sitting down and having a few beers with ya mates. Back in 1974 a group of journalists gathered at East Point to sink a few tinnies (cans of beer), spin a few yarns (tell a story) and watch the brilliant sun set over the Arafura sea.
Thanks Sol de lune for this great locationless.

A bowls club in a little town in South Island, NewZealand. Good idea for a locationless.

16-Nov-14
Walking the streets of Goulburn tonight looking for a meal and spotted this well lit sign for Goulburn Workers Club. Like most NSW clubs it probably has reasonably good value tucker but I didn't venture in. when it comes to a choice between thai and western the spices will win out every time.

Thanks Sol de lune.

16-Nov-14
Gungahlin Lakes Club

Decided to swing past on the way home and grab a pict. Thought this one would have been well and truely claimed by now.

This place has held a few geocaching events and is a nice local club looking over a nice golf course Very Happy

If you're ever in Canberra, check out any of our local clubs. Good meals and club priced drinks.....
