Description
Kowen Forest - ACT
Situated near the Molonglo Gorge, this is one of the entry points to Kowen Forest......and all that happens within. From Car Rally's & Dog Sled Racing to Picnic Areas and great walking trails (when the car rally's aren't on)....there is lots on in this forest.......just not at the same time maybe.
The cache is located away from the entry gate, but not far from the car park, and should be and easy find. There are a few GC caches in the area, some that will include a steep walk (but take your push bike anyway) or others along the path from the main picnic area.........just a short drive away.

Found this cache on the way to, at or on the way home from the Mega at Clearwaters. My trip to the Mega was great, found lab caches which while like gadgets are new icons to me. Found some great caches and brought back some neat ideas for new caches in Tasmania.

Out with Joolay again today - the last day of her holidays and we were determined to make the most of the day. Goal? 20 more GCA caches to add more points to the current game. We succeeded in our goal and this was #11. TFTC SDL SL

Drove down the road and parked roadside and walked towards GZ following then realized it was the other side of the fence.
Departed and driving back to main road when we saw the sign and drove up that road and parked. Short walk later was at GZ but cache is not in a log but on the ground covered with rocks about 1 meter away from the closest log.

After our failed attempt to find magnesium we noticed this cache was nearby so headed to the indicated position and were soon signing the log. After looking for a clue we had to remind ourselves that this cache was not a member of the elements series.
Cache container and contents were in good condition.
As the light was fading rapidly we didn't have time to explore this area further. That will have to wait for another visit.
Thanks for this cache Sol de Lune.

Was on the wrong side of the fence, once rectified this an easy find. Thanks.
Ninth for the day, I figured there'd be a bit of walking for this one, and surprisingly not. Happy to locate cache on the other side of the fence. Bit annoyed at the Motorbike riders who have cut the fence nearby.. but what can you do..

Found this fellow while out with Just a cacher today. Even on a short walk, the grass seeds were tenacious today.

First find of many today - but no, it wasn't Kowen Roo today. I picked this up on my way to spend the day caching northside in Nicholls. Nice and easy, almost a park and grab but I'm a bit worried what the couple who pulled up in the car park and were studiously ignoring me thought I was up to squatting behind a log

GCA 1123 - 11225. First find for the day before heading up THAT hill for a big day caching.
I decided to grab this one before heading up to the Roo series as I thought I'd be too stuffed once I got back down - and I was right ! Quick find at GZ neatly tucked in its hidey hole. First finder since September !
Thanks Sol do Lune !

Oops, found this one while doing the tail of the roo xmas day 2015 and forgot to log it. Saw it pop up on the map again today and thought "pretty sure we've already done a cache there". Yep! Good memories of a fun day (in hindsight) although the contour maps didn't do a great job that time. TFTC
I was in the area finding some GC caches and I also like to check if there are any GA caches about, and I found this one. An easy find. TFTC Sol de lune.

I have to admit it has been a while since we looked at GCA caches, so it was thanks to McPhan that we knew this one was here. We parked nearby to start our walk around the big roo, and this was find number one for the day. Thanks Sol!
858. Headed out to do the Roo with Winglen and couldn't leave this one sitting there unclaimed could we?
No we could not. A good marker for the parking spot and a nice start to the day,

Before heading up the hill towards the first cache in the Kowen Roo series, we got this cache after parking nearby. Once at GZ, it was a very quick find. Good to see another GCA cache in the ACT. TFTC SdL!

I was out and about down this end of the territory, so I took the opportunity to get these three GA caches. Two simple drive bys and one nice peaceful walk. Thanks

#GA347 - 18:50; I had been out on a Great Aussie Icon Hunt to complete my 3,000th GC cache find and noticed this one wasn't too far from where I'd parked the geomobile. Seeing I was sooooo close, decided to grab this one as well. TFTC Soil de lune
