Description

A traditional GCA cache to entice you up to the nearby (Mt Reedy) trig.   Not that it's an easy walk.......as the trail gets a bit steep as you go up, but once there, another trig find awaits you.     Now.....when I say a trig, I really mean just a name plate and a bolt in the concrete.....but it's still listed as a trig........so a trig is a trig is a trig.   The walk up isn't really that bad.....just don't expect to do it in 10 minutes (it took me about 30 minutes when I did it in January 2013).    It is a trig on hill top after all.....

As for this cache....well, you will walk along the flat section....about 200 metres from the start of the trail...and will find the cache in a tree stump just before you start the climb to the trig.   Nothing hard about this part!!!

Enjoy the short walk.......and I hope you go further up the hill.

I did go for the trig alright on the hike today, only that I collected this cache on the way back down not on the way up (as I was rushing for a FTF) Neverthless a nice extra find. Turns out the last couple finders where all non cachers. Looks like a random finder (how did that happen? They must have been looking for animals or so) and the second finders was Loci+Sui and DSD when they did their combing of the hills here to find the B and R of CBR before publish, it would have been a likly spot to check I guess. Smile

Thanks for the cache SDL!

We noticed a GA ring in in the area when we were planning to include the element series in our itinery for this trip. As it was a GA cache and we needed a largish number of finds for the 9th of the month and for Thursday we had included this one.

We were pleased to see that this one was not too far off the track. After a careful search of the area making sure we were not about to disturb any sleeping creepy crawly or step on any unsuspecting wriggly we were able to locate the cache container and remove it from its hide.

Container and contents were in good condition. After signing we again checked the hide before replacing the box and covering it. It was then of to Aluminium, the last of the traditional hide in this set of elements.

Thanks Sol de Lune for this cache.

Nice to see all these unfound (for me) GCAs out along Sutton Road - so convenient for my run to/from work Smile

So close to yet another daunting looking hill climb. I think I'll drive in and "camp" when I do the Roo series... - oh and the afore mentioned Trig !!

TFTC SDL !!

An easy find. Continued on to the trig. It was steep after this! Thanks.

Eighth for the day, no Trigs today, as i'm somewhat limited in strenous activity at the moment (which is very very frustrating).

Oh well, an easy find, and I note the reference to the blue container in the caches further up the road

Found on a nice geocaching drive out towards Lake George - we haven't been geocaching for a while, so it was awesome to get out again. After parking at the gate, we quickly dashed on the path towards GZ, for a very quick find. Nice little area. TNLNSL. TFTC SdL! Clan Cerberus

Hello Sol de lune! I didn't realise until recently that there were even MORE caches out there to find. Got this one after a long day in Kowen forest knocking off a small portion of the Kowen roo with Tankengine and StrangeTrousers. Definitely my hardest day caching so far. Recently returned from a caching holiday to the USA - you might find it amusing to know that the glue holding together my sneakers melted after a day of caching in Palm Desert!! Laughing

Grabbed this while on my way to the Trig and beyond.

I am getting to hike up this hill a lot. I call it "Forever" hill as that is how I feel while walking up the hill. TFTC Dsl

Found after doing the Kowen Roo series.. doh missed that trig. must remember next time.

05-Jul-15
My first GCA find ! I was heading back to the car after a trudging down the back of the Kowen Roo in single digit tempertatures. On the way down, TE mentioned there was a GCA cache near here. I thought "why not". Luckily the subject trig was behind us, or unluckily as I will have to return someday to resume the 'Roo. TFTC SDL

Last cache for the day after tackling the Kowen Roo series with mr_roo and Captain Tomato. I am glad that we tackled the trig from the north as that was a steep descent from the trig to here. Thanks again SDL Smile

Found with captain tomato and kittykatch. We came from the trig to this cache, happy we did as that hill is steep TFTC My 900th gca cache

GCA 1062 - 10,519. Go for the Trig ? Why ? I did on 20 Feb 2012 ?

But since I had slogged up the hill for a new TE cache I thought it was good to grab this one as well today - especially since I had the CO with me !!

TFTC !!

#GA482 - 14:35; After dropping the geohoney off in the city, decided I had time to head out and take up the Co's challenge to go for the trig! Parked the geomobile at the gate and headed along the trail. This cache was a quick find and sign, but then it was all up hill Pray TFTC Sol de lune Very HappyClan Cerberus

A slight diversion on my way to the trig and a new GC cache. Yes this was the easy part of the stroll. Pretty in blue came to mind once the container was revealed!
Thanks Sdl for the cache.

I was out and about down this end of the territory, so I took the opportunity to get these three GA caches. Two simple drive bys and one nice peaceful walk. I did not take the chance to go any further today. Thanks
