Description

Been to England?   Been to Stonehenge?     Well, if you havene't, you can now get the chance to see what Stonehenge is like.......right here.    Just head along the Federal Highway towards, or from, Canberra and there it is.......just across the highway from the posted co-ords above.

The story I've heard is the famer just wanted to do......so did.    It's his land I guess, so he can do almost whatever he likes.

So, if you headding down this way, pull into this side road and check it out.     Hope you like it.

heading home from the mega slowly and made a brief stop to find this cache. All good at GZ. thanks SDL

19-Nov-23
Found a damaged container...so I replaced it.

20-Apr-23
Nothing at GZ but a new post and a broken old post, searched a little wider to discover the intact cache on the edge of the roadway nearby. Relocated back to the proper spot, but wedged to prevent it escaping. In the excitement of the hunt, I never actually laid eyes on Stonehenge. Thanks for the cache Sol de Lune

Found It!
The fence here is getting replaced at the moment. I found the cache on the ground in open near the base of a new post. There isn't anything left here now to hide it behind/under. I put it back at the base of the post but not sure it'll survive there for long.

I am out caching by myself today and decided to have an early start to be home before the forecast storms arrived. I succeeded in that but didn't finish all the caches I was hoping to. This was the first find and the cache was soon in hand, log signed and all returned to the hidey hole. TFTC SDL TNLN Very HappyVery Happy

Found with Kittykatch on a late afternoon spur of the minute run. Love Stonehenge and think the Aussie Stonehenge is great. Thanks for putting it out there.

We were travelling down the Federal Highway investigating the byways and noticed stonehenge. It appears that it is not only Tasmanian farmers that have a fascination with Stonehenge. Tassie has one to the east of Oatlands. This one also has a cache.

The early afternoon was quite warm and the flies were reaching severely annoying level so we were glad that this cache was quickly located, quickly signed and returned allowing us a rapid return to our car. Fortunately we were able to view the farmers handiwork from our car.

Thanks for the cache Sol de Lune and for bringing our attention to this piece of local art? Work. We wondered how many people zip by everyday and dont know its there.

Grabbed on the way past. Thanks,

Drive past here twice a day but have never stopped to admire the view. I've often wondered what the 'structure' over there was all about. I figured it had something to do with Stonehenge. Quick stop on the way home this afternoon to sign the log.

Found this at 4:30pm on my drive back home with AuroraEve my youngest geodaughter. I had a visit to Canberra as I am moving back to the Coast. The visit was to tidy up a bit and catch up with the other geodaughter. Plus I managed to clear most of the HMAS cache series. Not much trouble finding this and I could point out the mini stone henge to the daughter.

Decided on a long day of caching in the ACT. and left home 3 am. Had a great day with 2 events involved as well. Lots of find and (unusually) lots of dnf's as well. Met some great people and the weather was at least dry today. Finally home and exhausted by 8 pm. Thanks for putting out this cache!

Found on our trip to Ettalong Beach for the weekend. Have seen this structure many times and have always thought that it would be the perfect topic for a cache. So it’s nice to see that vision come true. A very quick find at GZ, then we were on our way again. Nice tribute to such an awesome structure. TNLNSL. TFTC SdL!

On the ay to Sydney to see a Cirque show, I allowed enough time to get the new GA caches along the way. This artwork has been here for some time now and it has taken ages for someone to mark it with a cache, great stuff. Thanks.

#GA263 - 16:30; This was the second of seven on an afternoon run. I was planning to leave these ones until January to get me up to my 15 for the month, but what the heck, they are new and they are there to be logged, so I did a loop from Gungahlin to Sutton, along Sutton Road to Jerrabomberra and on to Hume and home again via Black Mountain. I dodged down onto the Federal Highway to grab this one and enjoyed the view over to Stonehenge from GZ. TFTC Sol de lune Clapping

Found on an afternoon cache run to pick up some caches around Sutton and Gundaroo. The Stonehenge across the road has been a talking point every time we head to Sydney or the Coast. We have been watching this property develop and remember when they first put the driveway in. The big white marquee seems to be a permanent thing - maybe people are having weddings or something there. I would love to go in and have a closer look. Thanks again Sol - nice one Smile

Out for an evening drive with the dogs and Black Bunny.
It was lovely and cool!

I have often wondered why that is there.

Easy Find. Thanks, Sol.
