An easy park and short walk and you'll have this cach in hand.     You will need to go through the gate as the cache is on the inside...you'll understand when you get there.

Plenty of parking close by as this is one of the many entry points for some of the walks around Black Mountain.

Second day of caching in Canberra this weekend. Weather looks a lot better then yesterday. With that said the bike came out if the car so I didn't drag it along the whole way for nothing. Lots of caches found again, thanks to all for hiding. Also made good progress towards a few goals.

Final cache for the afternoon, cache was located very quickly after the GPSr stopped jumping around - we are blaming the incoming storm. Now to head back to camp and avoid the rain.

Thanks for the hide.

It took me a while to find this one (started with the wrong log), but as I was about to leave took one more look at another log at a different angle and spotted the cache. All good in the end.

Thanks,

Another small diversion this morning. All quiet here today....love walking through bushland when we are so close to suburbia. Took a few goes to find the right location but made it in the end.

A nicely set up cache - this took a little searching to find once at the coordinate site and some careful searching of a number of potential hiding places. Another good site for those new to geocaching, but look for GA9949 first if this is your first outing and want to start with the more accessible geocache.

Thanks to Sol de Lune for setting this up - nice work!

Our first find for the day on a day out with McPhan walking most of the Black Mountain Reserve, from north to south and west to east. Thanks Sol de Lune for the hide. By the way, I misplaced my black gps case somewhere during the day and in spite of coming back looking for it I've not located it. If anyone finds it, I'd be pleased to get it back thanks.

A short walk from the carpark. A bit challenging to find but got it okay. Thanks

Today we made the most of the sunshine and spent a large part of the day locating caches that would help us achieve several of our personal goals.
We enjoyed our walk in the reserve even tough it was chilly out of the sun. We spent quite some time searching for the cache with no luck. We tried logical places and even those that didn't seem at all logical . No luck so we reluctantly we left the area and will have to log a DNF.
Thanks for placing a cache in this area Sol De Lune we really enjoyed our walk in this reserve. enjoyed the bush in this area F

Found 9:35pm. I am now officially becoming obsessed going out in this rainy weather. I first headed out to Mt. Painter started to get some details on a multi GC, to then locate along with a GCA and maybe a couple of others. But I then found that access was prohibited. Shyte! So now what! I decided to head back to where I stay and sleuth out other possibilities to keep my GC streak going and find a nearby GCA. Then onto the radar came this cache and for my GC there was HochSprung on the other side, since I had already prepped and dressed warm for Mt Painter this wasn't going to be any different. To be on the safe side I decided to try and find out what areas were not affected by the cull and confirmed that both sides were not on the list after a lot of google searching to get the info. I then headed out here first doing HochSprung on the other side.
Now for this cache headed off down the track with the view it looked pretty much like it was in that area. I then found I ended up going back towards the fence. Bugger 4m on the other side, climb over, now on the other side is when I spotted something. Ok well now that was silly. Signed the log and replaced cache as found. Note the contents were dry, can't say the same for the external.
I headed back down the track to get back to the geovehicle. Nice area to explore.
Thanks for the cache.

Grabbed this one while in the area after the Pi and Pie event.I missed it on my first couple of passes, but eventually nabbed it where the GPSr was telling me it was.
Thanks Sol for the cache.

It seems a local cacher has been getting out and about again, and we all benefit from a few new caches. After collecting another cache nearby, I headed over here. This one blends in really well. I ran into a friend riding in the bush on the way back to the car. You can't escape on any day around this town. Thanks

#GA267 - 19:45; This was the sixth of seven on an afternoon run. I was planning to leave these ones until January to get me up to my 15 for the month, but what the heck, they are new and they are there to be logged, so I did a loop from Gungahlin to Sutton, along Sutton Road to Jerrabomberra and on to Hume and home again via Black Mountain. I'd cleared the caches I had on the 'to do' list for the afternoon and decided a short detour on the way home was in order to grab a couple more. Parked not far from GZ and headed over, only to find muyself on the wrong side of the fence. Scaled the heights and the batteries I'd just put in the GPSr died, must have been the flat pair Embarassed Remembered the hint and continued the search, eventually spotting the tell tale sign of the hide. Signed the log and headed back to the geomobile for fresh batteries to make for the last find of the day! TFTC Sol de lune Very Happy
