Description

A neat spot along the river with lots of areas for camping...

We had a family get together here, camping for up to 10 days.   With a ski boat, we spent many hours during the days water skiing, knee boarding and tube riding.    Great fun.

The cache is a simple traditional, hidden in the top of a large stump, easy to find.  Watch out for snakes during the warmer months.

This was my first trip to the area to stay for a period of time, however others have been coming here for 10 years, and will no doubt be back again next year.....and I'll be back as well to enjoy the area...and check on the cache.

Have fun......

Caching in the area we made our way to GZ. The track in was wet with lots of potholes full of water. An awesome spot that we enjoyed visiting. Many thanks Sol de lune for bringing us here. Cache & contents in excellent condition.

At almost 2 1/2 years since the last find. I can confirm its safe and well and still down deep. Absolutely beautiful spot to boot

Well I just had to visit this one!!!!!!! With a cast of thousands here at this time of year, I was a little concerned at first. But I managed to sneak away and grab this one. He was down deep again!
Thanks W for the strategically placed cache!!!

#GA1983 - 14:05; Day six of a caching mission around western Victoria with Sol de lune and we were now headed for home. The plan for today was to head north through Central Goldfields and on to Castlemaine, Bendigo, Shepparton, Cobram and Yarrawonga before crossing the border into Mulwala and then on to Rand, Lockhart then home. After collecting a few caches around Bendigo, then Shepparton, we made our way to Cobram and then on to the banks of the mighty Murray for me to bag this cache and Sdl to do any necessary cache maintenance. Managed to find the cache a bit deeper in the stump than Sdl remembered placing it, but all found in good condition and my name was soon in the log. TFTC Sol de lune Very HappyClan Cerberus

Heading through the area on the way home with Luckyl10n and stopped in to check the cache. Found it ok, albeit a little buried down in the stump, but it was good and still able to found without issue.

For future finders, the cache is approx 30cm down inside the stump.

Cache on.....

I was slightly surprised that the cache was still in place after all this time. It took a bit of dust clearing to get the cache visible, but after about 5-10 minutes, it showed itself and I signed the log. TFTC.

That's one thing I like about GCA caches; they can go for ages being unfound and still be in excellent condition.

FTF.
I was very happy to find a brand new blank log book when I found this cache on the way back to Sydney after spending a week at the Aust International Airshow at Avalon Airport. Not only my first FTF for a while, but also my first-ever interstate FTF.
The only disappointing part was that we had already camped elsewhere last night (by the river in Barmah Nat Pk) and could have come here instead.
Thanks for showing me a new area to camp.
