Description

This hide is located adjacent to the Morgan Road.

The Overland Corner Hotel, which gives this region its name, is located near a bend in the River Murray and is over 150 years old. The hotel was constructed from limestone blocks quarried locally.  There are various trails and mines in the area.  The cache is located not far from the bitumen road with a good view of the river and local houses below. Take care at night as there is a slope nearby.

Came to the corner view and found the lid on the ground and nothing in the hidey hole. I had a cache in a tree fork and a possum lept ejecting it so it could sleep there. I wonder it this has happened here. I took the liberty of placing something in the hole and weighing it down with some rocks. It's s,aller that the original, if the lid is any indication. I hope this is okay with the CO. Great views from here.

Staying over in the camping ground and checked for caches in the area... Low and behold it was approx 8 meters away from where we were! Wonderful collection of bits of which we added a minion to.

A very quick find while taking the long route back to Adelaide today. Even though there was another cache not far from here, I decided to leave that one to break up the next trip through here.

I hereby claim this cache for clan Minotaur! Clan Minotaur

Thanks crane2.

We were heading to Port Wakefield from Renmark today and made a detour to Overland Corner to look for this cache. Mrs Y'stassie had forgotten that South Australia was the land of the stinging ant until she was made painfully aware of the at this when several small ants landed on her collar and proceeded to make their was down her back occasionally giving her a sharp nip.

Accurate coordinates and a good hint lead to a quick find of this excellent hide. It took a few minutes to spot the container that blends very well with its environment. Container and contents were in good condition . We spent a little moment enjoying the area. Its an excellent spot for a cache and for a view of the Herons Point area below.

Thanks Crane2 for a cache in an interesting spot

Stopped here by the side of the road for a little break and to search for the a cache. It took me surprisingly much longer to locate this cache than it should have! But I did get there in the end thanks to the cache hint. Nice views of the nearby property from here, and the rest of the scenery wasn't bad either Mr. Green

#GA7085 - 09:30; Day 4 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune. We are now headed from Barmera to Burra via Overland Corner, Waikerie, Blanchetown and Morgan plus a few other smaller towns. After a visit to the cemetery, we crossed the road and headed to this one and the nearby GC cache. Saw this as we stopped the car, so it didn't take long before the log was signed. Concealed the cache a little better than we found it. TFTC crane2 Very HappyClan Cerberus

Next stop and we parked at GZ, so the retrieval was rather quick. Log signed, a couple of happy snaps taken and we were on the road again.

Nice to have a GA real cache and not a trig. A quick find at GZ and were expecting to claim the 3rdTF after another Tassie group of cachers, Sharnie's Tribe, but there were a few names in the log book since them including one only a few days ago!
Guess they just haven't logged yet. Great views at GZ of the Mighty Murray. Thanks.

A quick find when we got to GZ, second team to sign the logbook. A long way to come from Tassie to try for a FTF only to miss out by one day! We're travelling in this area of the country for a couple of weeks so decided to try for this cache to try and keep it green. TFTC

After setting-up the caravan in the park, this was our first priority, luckily, as we fluked a FTF.
Definitely great views, and we could see the direction of our next find.
Thanks crane2
