Description

I remember finding a cache in this woolshed when it was in it's old location....about 2 klm away.   Then they picked it up (the woolshed) and moved it to it's current location.......

Now this cache isn't in the woolshed, but you will need to come out here to answer a few questions about the area in order to find the GZ....which is at S35 10.ABC E149 09.DEF....(and watch those south minutes again).

So, onto the questions.....which can be found on the information boards inside the woolshed:

The project is also studying the effects of adding 2A00 tonnes of large logs.....

The New Holland Mouse is part of the reintroduction program.   How many of the New Holland Mouse are in the photo = B

The first release was the Brown Treecreeper in 200C

The Sanctuary is protected by a 1D.4 klm predator proof fence

In 200E, 96 research plots in Mulligans Flat.......

How many Brown Treecreepers are in the photo?    F = 7 if 1 or F = 1 if 2

Once at GZ, you will be visible from the nearby track, so please watch for passing muggles before making the grab.....and again when replacing the cache.   A bit of natural camo is availble to help keep the cache covered.

Hope you enjoy your visit.   I sat in the woolshed and watched the 14 minute video on the area and was surprised at the amount of work actually going on.    Check it out for youself.

Did the work and have been given permission to log the find. It's a beautiful building!

Apologies Alnic...I meant to archive this one a while ago but obviously forgot to do so. As you did the work, please feel free log a find one it.

23-Jan-24
Should have read the logs before I came. I saw finds, but they are finds without there being a cache in place. My stupid.
This one really should be archived.

Today I was in a great group of geocachers mostly searching for GC caches out in Mulligans Flat. Luckily for some of us the CO of this cache was in the group and confirmed that it is indeed missing. I am now logging with kind permission. TFTC SDL.

Logged with the CO. A lovely area. TFTC

Last time I was here I did the calculations but GZ was blocked by a group listing to a guide. Today the air was clear for a search but couldn't find it in the obvious object.

14-Jan-20
Nature Reserve closed so couldn't go after this one. Another time. TFTC anyway

21-Jul-19
Did the maths and ended up at a very likely gz with an obvious stump but no cache?

I was just checking out the map and noticed that I hadn't logged this cache. I know I found it on 3 January while out grabbing caches for the SSH. I had to time my find between walkers and took a nice photo of the track. Thanks for the cache Sol - cheeky hide in such a busy area.

Found on a lovely morning around Gungahlin on a GC/GCA mission. After getting a whole bunch of CCT caches, we returned to the woolshed for yet another cache. After quickly answering the questions, we reached GZ where we were initially very confused - "wait, I thought that was where the GC one was." After reading similar logs, we knew we were in the right place, so it was a very quick find - good spot and a nice hide! As for that GC cache, it is currently disabled and looks like it might be archived soon because C2M hasn't maintained it in months - that will make it much easier for future GCA cachers. TNLNSL. I think I logged this one today. It fitted the clues but the actual cache had no identification in its log book or container. I guess from the other signatories that it is this one. There is a note that says not to confuse it with a GC cache.

This area should be re-named Muggles Flat. My visit to the woolshed was interrupted by two truck loads of rangers and the final cache was near a gate that funneled all muggles past it.

Ahhhhh, errrr, may have found this one rather than the GC one I logged. I will ask the Attorney General where I stand re this, if I see him later tonight Mr. Green

Ribbit I've been to the woolshed a few times but always good to revisit. I did the cache a bit backwards (like others it seems). Found the container 'while out and about' but wasn't certain it was for this cache. Added my name, then headed off to the woolshed to collect the clues. Did the sums, put the coords into the GPSr, yep that's the one; so as I had already signed the log, I continued along my way Smile. Thanks Sol de lune. Ribbit

Doing the CCT trail today, called in to the woolshed to gather the info. Workers were using it to have their lunch.

Did the calculations and entered into GPS which gave an "interesting" location. Cache was quickly found (along with another one)

Thanks

GCA 1136 - 11377. Found during a CCT collection run today.

A bonus GCA cache as I was passing by doing the CCT Series. A familiar area - been out here many times. Info gathered and GZ soon calcualted and cache found.

Thanks SDL !!

I visited the wool shed months ago, but was going the other way, so today I entered the park, just, to get this nice cache. An interesting long term exploration.

Found the Woolshed, that part was easy, found the clues, that was easy, but after setting of we had a feeling one of our numbers was wrong, and yep, we were right, after fixing the problem, we got to where we needed to and daughter was resting and pulls out a container and goes 'is this it?'.... Nice arvo out playing hide and seek with the kids!

#GA548 - 19:10; Third time lucky in my endeavours to log this cache. One the first attempt, the woolshed was locked and I couldn't retrieve all of the information, which I bagged on another flying visit later in the day which left no time for the search. Second time, with MrDamage in tow, the gate into the area was locked as there were firearms in use. Tonight, again accompanied by MrD we overcame all of the barriers for a quick find in an area I had a quick glance over on my first attempt, when I'd been taking a guess in the absence of all the required information. Seems I may have found it had I approached from the opposite side Brick Wall . Anyway, all is good in the end. TFTC Sol de lune Very HappyClan Cerberus

Found about 7:30pm with LuckyL10n. We had decided to try and find this one recently some days ago but then discovered upon arriving it was closed for some feral animal cleanup activities. So that night we gave it a miss. Tonight returning to the location the calculated coords led us directly to where the cache was found. After a quick look see at the contents the log was signed and the cache replaced. Interesting area around here including the security.
I am starting to learn about a number of wool sheds around the Canberra region.
Thanks for the cache.

Yippee!!! A few more new multi's to have a look at. So an extended lunch break was in order and Tanso and myself headed off to this one after having a wander in the "Goo".
A very pleasant stroll to the way point where we met up with a few rangers taking their lunch break. As they weren't prepared to share, we went about finding what we were there for. It didn't take long for them to cotton on to what we were up to and reminded us of the GC cache hidden within. After some cache related and reserve related chit chat, we were on our way to the bold hide. A nice quick find and a blank log greeted us. Yeah, another joint *FTF*.
Thanks Sdl for the cache and another visit to the "Flat".
