Description
Gateway to the Discovery Coast....a plaque on the side of the road that indicates the area. Not that you would see it simply by driving past, as the location is now on the old section or road and is almost overgrown by grass. However it is there....and now so is a cache to bring you to the area. Further on down the road you can visit the interesting towns of Agnes Waters and the Town of 1770....an easy day trip from Bundy.
Cache is a small 200 ml sistema and fits nicely under the rock the plaque is on.

Definitely a great start to my caching in this area. TG47 was very cooperative and turned around to come back for this cache as we initially drove straight past it. From then it was a quick park and grab while we had a coffee. It's been a long day as the overnight rain woke TG47 at 3.30 this morning. Our 2nd quick find of yours today SDL. Now to see how good at firing at the Battleships. TFTC SDL TNLN SL

Definitely wouldn't have seen this plaque without a cache. Hauled the container out with what could have been a couple of leeches attached... they seemed to like me so I'd say they were. Not only the Gateway to the Discovery Coast but the gateway to GCA. Let the Battleship game begin! TFTC Sol de lune.

Cache was certainly not there, however there is a new shiny one there now.
In the area on our annual visit so dropped in today to check it out. This new one is under the rock with the plaque on it. It is completely covered with bitumen road base/rocks.....please ensure it is recovered after you find it to ensure it is not seen by anyone passing by.

On my way to 1770 for a day trip, and spotted this one on the cache radar. That Sol de lune sure does get around the place, doesn't he? A short detour had me right next to the marker - fascinating that it's tucked away here with the information board, and so neglected. Must've been a building here at some stage I guess.
Unfortunately no sign of the cache here. Could have been found by the local yobbos or kids, as there's a lot of rubbish and food containers dumped here. Unfortunately I didn't have anything that might serve as a replacement container either, apart from an eclipse container full of mints. A shame, as it's an interesting spot that deserves a cache.

On my way home the Long way. Left Emerald at 0700 this morning and here about 2ish. Quick find. Will attach photos when I get back to Nanango in two days. All good with this one. TFTC Sol De Lune

I was heading towards The Town of 1770 to check it out with the missus when this cache came up on the GPS. It was time to stretch the legs and I found the correct access to the area and parked nearby.
I looked at the GPS and it was indicating 30m of long grass before I arrived at the search area. I was about to give it a miss as it was 30°+ in the sun and I wasn't inclined to bash through the grass. Luckily I had a read of the description and notice the location of the cache. I was only a few metres from the described spot and decided to check it out and soon had the cache extracted from the dirt and debris which has been washed under there and opened the cache to a clean log book.
Another look at the GPS to discover that I was *FTF* on this cache.
Thanks for putting this cache here Sol de lune It is a spot which should have more attention.
