Description

A series of virtual caches for notable features of Kings Park

The first in, I hope, a series of virtuals to celebrate the significant memorials around Kings Park.

It is very difficult to place physical caches in Kings Park so I will take advantage of the virtual concept.

Please take a photo of the memorial as a requirement for "finding" this cache.  No photos from computer screens, google images, etc.  No need to have GPSR or phone or yourself in the photo.

The Shell is actually a money box to collect coins to help with the upkeep of the road and surrounds leading into Kings Park.  It was placed in 1920. It is now in an under-utilised part of the park and probably missed by most.

Mrs jinta and I had some spare time today so we set off to find some GCA caches! We headed to this area and hopped from one cache to the next with no real set plan but kept following the GPSR... this cache was one we grabbed while passing by. Cheers for placing this one. jinta29

I was able to find a little time from work to walk up the hill and check out some of the sights of Kings Park. I had noticed this shell on many previous occasions but had never really taken the time to have a good close look at it. Interesting plaque on it. Photo shows when your coins should go. Found with hubby MrGT walking back to our van from the CAT bus and the Parliament area.

Stamp says this shell is just over 100 years old.

Due to the number of caches to log I have resported to boiler plate logs, sorry. Arrived in Perth on 8th August 2016 and I had my lap top with me to log our finds with any necessary photos but due to an oversight left my 4G modem at home and the free WI-Fi at the place we are staying is very slow and times out much to fast. We collected our hire car and drove straight to Kings Park. The weather was overcast and drizzly. We spent about 5 hours up here and we walked to every cache leaving the car where we parked it. This was our second cache for the morning. Took the required photo after reading any plaque associated with the object. TFTC FLUFFYFISH Clan Minotaur

Nice and easy on a great day to be in the park, a little used part of the park it may be because I have not been here until now. Thanks for bringing me here Fluffyfish

Lucky last of my stroll around Kings Park on this glorious afternoon before heading off to the airport. It turned out to be my last find for this trip as well Sad. Hopefully I'll be back again someday soon. Smile

Anyhoo, Upoj wasn't playing fair here but GZ was pretty obvious and I was soon taking the obligatory pickie at 14:25 before making my way back to the car. An interesting piece of history. Very Happy

Thanks fluffyfish.
