Description

AAI - Gecko

This is one of a series of five caches placed for the purpose of sharing the GCA Aborignal Art inspired path tag set, a stunning collection of tags produced for Geocaching Australia.

There are five tags in the set, five caches in the series and five sets of tags in the caches. If you are one of the first five finders of this cache, one of the Gecko tags within is yours to keep. If you are one of the first five finders on each of the five caches in the series, then the entire collection could be yours.

It would be appreciated if everyone who takes a tag leaves another tag as a swap for future cachers, but this is optional if you are one of the first five finders.

Please do NOT take the tag that is glued into the cache ... that is there for viewing purposes only. If there are no Gecko tags in the bag or loose in the cache, you have missed out.

DO NOT TAKE A TAG ON BEHALF OF ANOTHER CACHER - no tags to be taken for anyone who doesn't attend the cache and sign the log.

Suggested parking coordinates: S 31° 41.940 E 116° 03.371 (turn off Great Northern Highway at S 31° 42.421 E 116° 02.263)

Enjoy

Found the cache with Lazarus, we started off in Toodyay and called in via Bindoon before finding a few caches in Walyunga park. It turned out to be a bit of a hot day so was ready to call it quits after returning to the car.

Great little spot for this one, we took the big hill route and it took us about 3hrs from the first carpark. A bit of a drizzly day, but what a great walk. I probably would've chickened out doing a smaller walk had I not seen this little one pop up and convinced my walking buddy. There's still a tag glued to the inside of the lid, but otherwise just the log book. Signed and returned. We were looking at ground level from the clue, but found it a bit higher.
Thanks for the cache!

Very odd that there were no tags left - I would think that all of the previous finders are to be trusted to do the right thing. ThinkSadConfused

We really picked the wrong day for this cache with the temperatures at 40+ degrees, but job done. Thanks for the cache firnsy.

After finding the GC cache nearby I continued on to this one. It was a lovely walk along the Pilgrim Trail, and a quick find once at GZ. I managed to disturb several kangaroos and a few joeys along today's walk and they bounced off as soon as they saw or heard me.

I took the 3rd pathtag. Thanks for the cache Firnsy!

Today was quite hot so left this one until late in the day, found at sunset, with some non-cacher friends who really enjoyed the outing.
Many kangaroos jumping around. TFTC Clapping

Well during my 2hr 20 min, gruelling 10km mountain bike ride with no more than 270metres of climb in Walyunga National Park i claimed a first to find [FTF] on a traditional cache, my first traditional cache, and a second Trigg point. Was it worth it? absobloodylutely. I experienced many spectacular views and a ride that burned of 1200 calories.

What can I say Firnsy what an absolute fantastic hiding spot for the cache and the location of the cache was just breathtaking. i sat and rested for 10 mins just to savour my accomplishment in such beautiful surroundings.

Unfortunately i do not have tags but when i do i will go back and put one in taking a slightly easier route!!!!

If you want an easy walk take the pilgrim track from the car park.
