Description

A traditional cache from the time of the dinosaurs

A very interesting location. The flood tree shows that a lot of water can travel through here. This is a small geocache but doesn't contain any swaps. You'll understand when you find it. Park near the USA cache and walk across the bridge.

Before we left Nannup we decided to look for this cache. As we are not familiar with the area it took a little while to work out how to get to the bridge. ITt was a nice walk across to the other side. This was followed by a scramble down the bank to a couple of trees. We were still 12m from the cache but something pushed us to search here before attempting a steep down hill scramble. We lifted the large pile of debris between the trees and spotted a familiar caching container. As we pulled it out we found it was attached to a good sized dinosaur. The log sheet was very wet and the sheets were sticking together. We managed to sign the log and put it back as found.

Thanks for this cache FluffyFish. We enjoyed discovering the Flood tree. The cache log does need replacing and a new o ring would probably stop the wet log difficulty.

Out with Chwiliwr for a very early morning drive to check out his cache near Nannup and to collect some other GCA caches before the rest of the family arrive in Wellington Mill for a Christmas get together.

Cache found without any problems but log was quite wet. We managed to sign it but had to return it to the container wet as we didn't have any replacement with us and no means of making one that was suitable for this type of container.

Thanks for the cache.

We were down in Nannup this weekend for a special bike ride in preparation for an upcoming race in May. A lovely little town to stay in, and we enjoyed a wander about town in the afternoon, picking up a few caches. This was one of them, and it was a quick and easy find. I'm glad we got to see this awesome bridge and the flood tree. Thanks for the cache fluffyfish!

tftc fluffyfish found it very quickly and also found the cache had water in it. i did not have any gear with me today so was unable to replace the log. but i am guessing it will dry out over the next few months. this must have been very close to being washed away in floods when you look at the most recent markers. Found on my way home from a weekend trip to Lake Grace for the opening of the new Ambo subcentre
The light was fading fast and I had to use the flashlight on my iPhone to light up the path
I was worried with the recent flooding that the cache may have been washed away but after a rummage around in the leaf litter in a spot mentioned in the hint, I uncovered the Dinosaur.
Signed the log and placed him back in his sleeping place
Good to see a GCA trad, precious few around

Understandably disappointed, after travelling the long distance to get here. Brick Wall
GPS took me to open dirt patch next to start of bridge; has been known to let me down previously.
Searched surrounding trees, to no avail.
Request: if possible please supply photograph showing GZ?
